Two Days Workshop on Fundamentals of Python Programming Concludes at Multani Mal Modi College Patiala Patiala: 23 September 2024
The Department of Computer Science, Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala organised a Two-Days workshop on the “Fundamentals of Python Programming” in Collaboration with iHUB Divya Sampark, IIT Roorkee, a Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) at IIT Roorkee. The workshop was designed for undergraduate and postgraduate students to enhance their programming capabilities and introduce them to the fundamentals of Python, a highly versatile and widely used programming language in the fields of data science, artificial intelligence, and software development. Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Controller Examinations and Dean, Faculty of Computing Sciences, Punjabi University, Patiala was chief guest in the valedictory function of this workshop. College Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal, welcomed the chief guest and emphasized upon the importance of developing technical skills in modern education, stating that such workshops play a vital role in preparing students for the dynamic needs of today’s industries. He congratulated the participants for taking part in this learning platform. The Chief Guest at the valedictory session, Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Controller Examinations and Dean, Faculty of Computing Sciences, Punjabi University, Patiala, applauded the organizing team and participants. He stressed the growing importance of Python programming in academia and industry alike and encouraged students to continue exploring emerging technologies. The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Ganesh Kumar Sethi, who ensured smooth planning and execution of the event. Prof. Vinay Garg, Head of the Department, added that the collaboration with institutions like IIT Roorkee enhances the college’s academic offerings and gives students an edge in the competitive tech landscape. The event witnessed active participation, with 231 students and 15 faculty members attending. The sessions were led by Mr. Dhian Singh, an experienced Python programming trainer, who conducted comprehensive lessons covering Python’s core concepts, hands-on coding, and practical applications of the language in real-world scenarios. The organizing team consisted of faculty members from Computer Department including Dr. Ajit Kumar, Dr. Harmohan Sharma, Dr. Sukhdev Singh, Dr. Sumeet Kumar, and Dr. Rohit Sachdeva, who contributed significantly to the success of the event. The workshop concluded with the distribution of certificates to participants and a vote of thanks, marking a successful and enriching experience for all involved. ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਪਾਈਥੇਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਿੰਗ ਦੇ ਬੁਨਿਆਦੀ ਸਿਧਾਤਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਦੋ ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦਾ ਸਫਲ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ. 23 ਸਤੰਬਰ, 2024 ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਈ.ਆਈ.ਟੀ. ਰੁੜਕੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਆਈਐਚਯੂਬੀ ਦਿਵਿਆ ਸੰਪਰਕ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਟੈਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਇਨੋਵੇਸ਼ਨ ਹੱਬ (ਟੀਆਈਐਚ) ਹੈ, ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ “ਪਾਈਥਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਿੰਗ ਦੇ ਬੁਨਿਆਦੀ ਸਿਧਾਤਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਦੋ-ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਹ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਅੰਡਰਗਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਅਤੇ ਪੋਸਟ ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪਾਈਥੇਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਿੰਗ ਸਮਰੱਥਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਈਥਨ ਦੇ ਬੁਨਿਆਦੀ ਸਿਧਾਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ਡੇਟਾ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ, ਮਸਨੂਈ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਫਟਵੇਅਰ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਰਤੀ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਇੱਕ ਬਹੁਮੁਖੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਵਰਤੀ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਿੰਗ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਪਤੀ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਕੰਟਰੋਲਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਖਿਆਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਡੀਨ, ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਆਫ਼ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਿੰਗ ਸਾਇੰਸਜ਼, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਹੁਨਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਉੱਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਜੋਕੇ ਉਦਯੋਗਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਲੋੜਾਂ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਹਿਮ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਲਰਨਿੰਗ ਪਲੇਟਫਾਰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਇਸ ਦੋ ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਪਤੀ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਕੰਟਰੋਲਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਖਿਆਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਡੀਨ, ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਆਫ਼ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਿੰਗ ਸਾਇੰਸਜ਼, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕੀ ਟੀਮ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਸਨੇ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਉਦਯੋਗ ਦੇ ਵਿਭਿੰਨ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਈਥਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਿੰਗ ਦੇ ਵਧ ਰਹੇ ਮਹੱਤਵ ‘ਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਅਤਿ-ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦਾ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਡਾ. ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਸੇਠੀ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੀ ਸੁਚੱਜੀ ਵਿਉਂਤਬੰਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਲ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ। ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਵਿਨੈ ਗਰਗ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਆਈਆਈਟੀ ਰੁੜਕੀ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਪੁਜ਼ੀਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਖਤਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਯੋਗੀ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਲੈਂਡਸਕੇਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ 231 ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ 15 ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ।ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਸੈਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਧਿਆਨ ਸਿੰਘ, ਇੱਕ ਤਜਰਬੇਕਾਰ ਪਾਈਥੇਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਿੰਗ ਟ੍ਰੇਨਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ, ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਾਈਥਨ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਸੰਕਲਪਾਂ, ਹੈਂਡ-ਆਨ ਕੋਡਿੰਗ, ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੈਕਟੀਕਲ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਹਾਰਕ ਉਪਯੋਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਵਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕੀ ਟੀਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ. ਅਜੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਡਾ. ਹਰਮੋਹਨ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡਾ. ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡਾ. ਸੁਮੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਰੋਹਿਤ ਸਚਦੇਵਾ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੀ ਸਫ਼ਲਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਹਿਮ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਪਾਇਆ। ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਪਤੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਟੀਫਿਕੇਟ ਵੰਡਣ ਅਤੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਤਾ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਈ।
