Udyam Utsav – Celebrating Local Entrepreneurship Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala

Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala successfully organized “Udyam Utsav—Celebrating Local Entrepreneurship” on 19th March 2026 under the aegis of the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises, Patiala. The event was jointly organized by the College Placement Cell and the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC). It aimed to nurture entrepreneurial skills among students and promote local business ventures.
The program commenced with an introductory address by the Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal, who emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship in today’s competitive world and motivated students to become job creators.
The event was graced by the esteemed resource person, Mr. Arpit Singh from Chitkara University, who delivered an engaging and informative session. He shared valuable insights on innovation, startup culture, and practical strategies for building successful ventures.
The event was also graced by the presence of S. Satinder Singh, Deputy CEO, District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises (DBEE), Patiala, and Dr. Roopsi Pahuja, District Counsellor Officer, DBEE, Patiala, whose presence added value and encouragement to the participants.
A key highlight of the event was the exhibition comprising 20 stalls, showcasing a wide range of products and services. These stalls were set up by college students who are actively running their own startups, reflecting innovation, creativity, and hands-on business experience. In addition, participants nominated by the Punjab Employment Office also participated, adding diversity and professional exposure to the event.
The exhibition witnessed a huge rush of visitors, including students, faculty members, and guests, demonstrating keen interest in entrepreneurship and startup culture. Faculty members from the Departments of Commerce, Management, and Science actively attended the event along with students, further enriching the academic and professional environment.
A panel of judges visited the stalls and evaluated them based on innovation, presentation, and business potential, making the activity both competitive and enriching.
The stage proceedings were efficiently conducted by the Placement Officer, Prof. Parminder Kaur, ensuring smooth coordination of the program.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks presented by Dr. Harjinder Singh from the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the dignitaries, resource person, participants, organizers, and attendees for making the event a grand success.
