Science Based Interactive Demonstrations Organized at M. M. Modi, College

The Physics Society ‘We Matter’ of Multani Mal Modi College organized the Annual series of science based interactive demonstrations titled ‘Making Physics Fun’ under guidance of College principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar. The main objective of these demonstrations was to promote Physics as an engaging subject. The focus of such sessions is to highlight the importance of combining theoretical and practical work in the educational learning process. Dr. Jaswinder Singh, Shiksha Ratan, State Awardee, Governor Awardee, National Awardee, Lecturer Govt. Sen. Sec. School, Kalyan joined as a resource person.
Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Registrar and Dean, Life Sciences, Dr. Kavita, Head of the Department of Physics and faculty of Department of Physics felicitated the resource person. Dr. Ashwani Kumar formally welcomed the resource person and emphasized on the role of science and scientific aptitude to achieve deeper level of understanding that have enabled the secrets of our bodies, our environment and the whole universe to be discovered. The introduction of practical demonstrations at an earlier level promotes students’ positive attitude and enhance motivation for effective learning in science.
Dr. Jaswinder Singh, through various practical demonstrations on science theories and concepts, helped students to visualize the processes which occur in nature including biological, chemical, geological and physical phenomena. It was his generous verbal enrichment that engaged the students and nurtured their inner curiosities. He laid stress on the need of Observation to learn science.

Students of the Physics society Ms. Amandeep Kaur (B.Sc. NM-II) conducted the stage, Ms. Anchal (B.SC CS-II) introduced the resource person and Mr. Vishal (B.Sc., NM-I) proposed the vote of thanks.

ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਫਿਜ਼ਿਕਸ ਸੁਸਇਟੀ ‘ਵੂਈ ਮੈਟਰ” ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਲਾਨਾ ਸੀਰੀਜ਼ ‘ ਮੇਕਿੰਗ ਫਿਜ਼ਕਿਸ ਫਨ’ ਦੇ ਅੰਤਰਗਤ ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ.ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਦੀ ਸੁਚੱਜੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਅਧਾਰਿਤ ਇੰਟਰੈਕਟਿਵ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ।ਇਹਨਾਂ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿਲਚਸਪੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ ਉੱਥੇ ਫਿਜ਼ਿਕਸ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਿਧਾਂਤਕ ਥਿਊਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਲੀ ਕਾਰਜਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਣ-ਪ੍ਰੀਕ੍ਰਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਪਸ਼ੱਟ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ।
ਇਹਨਾਂ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਦੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਡਾ. ਜਸਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਸ਼ਿਖਸ਼ਾ ਰਤਨ, ਸਟੇਟ ਐਵਾਰਡੀ, ਗਵਰਨਰ ਐਵਾਰਡੀ,ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਐਵਾਰਡੀ ਤੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਸਕੂਲ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਵਿੱਖੇ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਲੈਕਚਰਾਰ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੋਏ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਡਾ.ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਡੀਨ ਤੇ ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ, ਲਾਈਫ ਸਾਇੰਸਿਜ਼, ਡਾ. ਕਵਿਤਾ, ਮੁਖੀ ਫਿਜ਼ਿਕਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਕਰਵਾਈ।ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਬੋਲਦਿਆ ਡਾ.ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਸੋਚ ਵਿਕਸਿਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰਾਂ, ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮੰਡ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ਼ ਖੋਲਣ ਲਈ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਨਜ਼ਰੀਆ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ ਅਹਿਮ ਹੈ।ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਹਾਂ-ਪੱਖੀ ਰੁਖ ਅਪਨਾਉਣ ਤੇ ਬਿਹਤਰ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਡਾ.ਜਸਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਰਲ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵੀ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਥਿਊਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਧਾਤਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਬਾਇਉਲੌਜੀਕਲ, ਜਿਊਲੌਜੀਕਲ ਤੇ ਫਿਜ਼ਿਕਸ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਗਾਂ ਰਾਹੀ ਸਮਝਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦੱਦ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਖਾਸ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਸ਼ੈਲੀ ਰਾਹੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਦਿਲਚਸਪੀ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਰੱਖੀ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਕੁਦਰਤੀ ਵਰਤਾਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਨੀਝ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਹਾ।
ਸ਼ੈਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ ਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਵਾਈਸ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਜਸਵੀਰ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਫਿਜ਼ਿਕਸ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਅਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ (ਬੀ.ਐੱਸ.ਸੀ, ਨਾਨ-ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਭਾਗ ਦੂਜਾ) ਨੇ ਸਟੇਜ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਆਂਚਲ (ਬੀ.ਐੱਸ.ਸੀ, ਸੀ.ਐੱਸ-ਭਾਗ ਦੂਜਾ) ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਰਸਮੀ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਤੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਤਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ (ਬੀ.ਐੱਸ.ਸੀ, ਨਾਨ-ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਭਾਗ ਦੂਜਾ) ਨੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ।
