The Department of Defence & Strategic Studies of Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala organized an educational excursion on 13 February 2026 to witness a Military Equipment Display conducted by the Indian Army in collaboration with the Punjab Government.
A group of 10 students of B.A. (I, II & III) Defence & Strategic Studies, accompanied by Dr. Navneet Kaur, visited the exhibition and gained first-hand exposure to modern defence technology and operational military systems.
During the display, students closely observed major combat platforms including T-92 tanks, a Bridge Laying Tank (BLT), drones, and advanced reconnaissance equipment. The Army personnel also demonstrated infantry weapons such as SLR and INSAS rifles. In addition, the students were introduced to thermal imaging devices, specialised military kits, protective masks, and other essential combat apparatus used by soldiers in real battlefield conditions.
A special attraction of the exhibition was the presentation of defence equipment developed under the “Make in India” initiative, highlighting India’s growing self-reliance and indigenous manufacturing capabilities in the defence sector.
The excursion proved to be highly informative and enriching, enhancing students’ understanding of contemporary military technology and strengthening their awareness about India’s defence preparedness and strategic capabilities.

The college expresses its sincere gratitude to the Indian Army and Punjab Government for providing such a valuable learning opportunity to the students.
