World Environment Day Celebrated at Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala

Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala, celebrated World Environment Day with great enthusiasm and a commitment to environmental sustainability in collaboration with Punjab Gramin Bank. Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal appreciated the collaborative efforts of NABARD and Punjab Gramin Bank and emphasized the importance of environmental stewardship among the youth. He encouraged students to adopt eco-friendly practices and contribute actively towards building a cleaner and greener future.

The event featured a tree plantation drive on the college campus, where students, faculty members, and guests actively participated in planting saplings to promote environmental conservation and enhance the green cover of the institution. As part of the celebration, eco-friendly jute bags were distributed among students and staff to encourage the reduction of plastic usage and promote sustainable lifestyle choices. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of single-use plastics and the need to adopt environmentally responsible alternatives.

The programme was graced by distinguished representatives from NABARD and Punjab Gramin Bank, including Sh. Rahul Malik, Assistant Manager, NABARD, Sh. Rahul Patidar, Assistant Manager, NABARD, Sh. Jaydeep Chougule, Senior Manager, Punjab Gramin Bank, and Sh. Amandeep Bains, Chief Manager, Punjab Gramin Bank. They interacted with the students and highlighted the role of financial institutions in supporting sustainable development and environmental conservation initiatives. Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, Dean Life Sciences and Incharge, Eco Club, emphasized that environmental conservation begins with individual responsibility and encouraged students to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives to create a greener and healthier future. Dr. Ajit Kumar, Dr. Ganesh Kumar, Dr. Harmohan Sharma, Dr. Rohit Sachdeva, Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Dr. Varun Jain, Dr. Deepika Singla, Dr. Bhanvi Wadhawan, Dr. Santosh, Dr. Kavita, Dr. Manish Kumar, and Dr. Nidhi Rani Gupta were also present on the occasion.

ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਦਿਵਸ ਬੜੇ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਵਚਨਬੱਧਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਗ੍ਰਾਮੀਣ ਬੈਂਕ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਨਾਬਾਰਡ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਗ੍ਰਾਮੀਣ ਬੈਂਕ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਵਿਕਸਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਉੱਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ-ਅਨੁਕੂਲ ਆਦਤਾਂ ਅਪਣਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਫ਼-ਸੁਥਰੇ ਤੇ ਹਰਿਆਲੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਦੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਪਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕਾਲਜ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੁੱਖ ਲਗਾਓ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਚਲਾਈ ਗਈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ, ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਿਮਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਂਦਿਆਂ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੌਦੇ ਲਗਾਏ। ਇਸ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਦੀ ਹਰਿਆਵਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਧਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ। ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਦੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੂਟ ਦੇ ਥੈਲੇ ਵੀ ਵੰਡੇ ਗਏ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਪਲਾਸਟਿਕ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਟਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਟਿਕਾਊ ਜੀਵਨ-ਸ਼ੈਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਪਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ। ਇਸ ਪਹਿਲ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਵਰਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਲਾਸਟਿਕ ਦੇ ਨੁਕਸਾਨਦਾਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਫੈਲਾਉਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ-ਅਨੁਕੂਲ ਵਿਕਲਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ।

ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਰਾਹੁਲ ਮਲਿਕ, ਸਹਾਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ, ਨਾਬਾਰਡ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਰਾਹੁਲ ਪਟੀਦਾਰ, ਸਹਾਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ, ਨਾਬਾਰਡ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਜੈਦੀਪ ਚੌਗੁਲੇ, ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਮੈਨੇਜਰ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਗ੍ਰਾਮੀਣ ਬੈਂਕ, ਅਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਅਮਨਦੀਪ ਬੈਂਸ, ਚੀਫ਼ ਮੈਨੇਜਰ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਗ੍ਰਾਮੀਣ ਬੈਂਕ ਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਚਾਰ-ਵਟਾਂਦਰਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਡਾ. ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਡੀਨ ਲਾਈਫ ਸਾਇੰਸਿਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ, ਈਕੋ ਕਲੱਬ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਗਤ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ-ਅਨੁਕੂਲ ਅਮਲ ਅਪਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਡਾ. ਅਜੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਡਾ. ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਡਾ. ਹਰਮੋਹਨ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡਾ. ਰੋਹਿਤ ਸਚਦੇਵਾ, ਡਾ. ਸੰਜੇ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਡਾ. ਵਰੁਣ ਜੈਨ, ਡਾ. ਦੀਪਿਕਾ ਸਿੰਗਲਾ, ਡਾ. ਭਾਨਵੀ ਵਧਾਵਨ, ਡਾ. ਸੰਤੋਸ਼, ਡਾ. ਕਵਿਤਾ, ਡਾ. ਮਨੀਸ਼ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਨਿਧੀ ਰਾਣੀ ਗੁਪਤਾ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ।
