Visit to Apahij Ashram by Modi College’s Bharat Scouts and Guides Unit

The Bharat Scouts and Guides (B.S.G.) unit of Multani Mall Modi College, Patiala, visited Shri Dasondhi Ram Veerji Apahij Ashram in Patiala. The purpose of this visit was to encourage students to connect with society, promote social service, compassion, and community spirit.
Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal expressed satisfaction with the visit under scout activities and motivated the Rovers and Rangers to recognize their duties towards society as educators and to maintain empathy towards the disabled and needy.Under the leadership of Ranger Leader Dr. Veenu Jain and Rover Scouts Leader Dr. Rupinder Singh, around 30 Rangers and Rovers arrived at the ashram, where they spent time talking with the disabled residents about various aspects of their lives and also distributed food items and some old clothes to them.
Ranger Jagdish Kaur said that for the first time, she felt immense joy participating in such philanthropic work. Rover Pushap stated that these people are also part of our society, and even if their limbs are not fully functional for some reason, we can become their hands and feet to give them a new life. Rover Harneel Singh remarked that coming to the ashram felt like watching a movie where he saw many characters living a shared life on the stage of one life.Mrs. Praveen Ji, who manages the ashram, said that after meeting the children, all the ashram residents were very happy, and they thanked the entire B.S.G. unit of Modi College for creating a family-like feeling. The unit reiterated its commitment to stay connected with the ashram and continue service efforts in the future.

ਬੀਤੇ ਦਿਨੀਂ ਮਿਤੀ 19 ਫਰਵਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਸਕਾਊਟਸ ਐਂਡ ਗਾਈਡਜ਼ (ਬੀ.ਐੱਸ.ਜੀ) ਯੂਨਿਟ ਨੇ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਦਸੋਂਧੀ ਰਾਮ ਵੀਰਜੀ ਅਪਾਹਿਜ ਆਸ਼ਰਮ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰੇ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਾਜ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਨ, ਸਮਾਜ ਸੇਵਾ, ਕਰੁਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਕ ਸਾਂਝ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ। ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਸਕਾਊਟਸ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀ ਤਹਿਤ ਇਸ ਦੌਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਤਾ ਜ਼ਾਹਿਰ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਰੋਵਰਜ਼ ਤੇ ਰੇਂਜਰਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸਿੱਖਿਅਕ ਵੱਜੋਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਅਪਣੇ ਫਰਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਚਾਨਣ ਅਤੇ ਅਪਾਹਿਜਾਂ/ਲੋੜਵੰਦਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਹਮਦਰਦੀ ਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਆ ।ਰੇਂਜਰ ਲੀਡਰ ਡਾ. ਵੀਨੂੰ ਜੈਨ ਅਤੇ ਰੋਵਰ ਸਕਾਊਟਸ ਲੀਡਰ ਡਾ. ਰੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਆਸ਼ਰਮ ਵਿਚ ਪੁੱਜੇ ਕਰੀਬ 30 ਰੇਂਜਰ/ਰੋਵਰ ਨੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਆਸ਼ਰਮ ਦੇ ਅਪਾਹਿਜ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਓਹਨਾ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਵੱਖ -ਵੱਖ ਪਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਗੱਲਾਂ -ਬਾਤਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਮਾਂ ਬਿਤਾਇਆ ਉਥੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਣ-ਪੀਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਵੀ ਵੰਡੇ। ਰੇਂਜਰ ਜਗਦੀਸ਼ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਦਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਸਨੇ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਵਿਚ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੀ ਕਾਰਜ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਬਣਕੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ।ਰੋਵਰ ਪੁਸ਼ਪ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਵੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਅੰਗ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਅੰਗ ਕਿਸੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਪੂਰਨ ਰੂਪ ਚ ਨਹੀ ਪਰ ਅਸੀ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਪੈਰ ਬਣਕੇ ਇਕ ਨਵੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੇ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਰੋਵਰ ਹਰਨੀਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਆਸ਼ਰਮ ਆਉਣਾ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਫ਼ਿਲਮ ਦੇਖਣ ਵਰਗਾ ਅਹਿਸਾਸ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਚ ਉਸਨੇ ਕਿੰਨੇ ਹੀ ਪਾਤਰ ਇਕੋ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੇ ਮੰਚ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਜੀਓਂਦੇ ਦੇਖੇ ਹਨ ।ਆਸ਼ਰਮ ਦੀ ਦੇਖਭਾਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਵੀਨ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਸ਼ਰਮ ਵਾਸੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਕ ਅਹਿਸਾਸ ਸਿਰਜਣ ਲਈ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਬੀ.ਐਸ.ਜੀ ਦੀ ਸਮੁੱਚੀ ਯੂਨਿਟ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ। ਯੂਨਿਟ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਸ਼ਰਮ ਨਾਲ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿਚ ਵੀ ਜੁੜੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਤੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਦਾ ਉਪਰਾਲਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੀ ਵਚਨਵਧਤਾ ਦੁਹਰਾਈ ਗਈ ।
