A Five-Day Workshop on English Language, Pronunciation, and Soft Skills concluded at Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala

A five-day workshop on ‘English Language, Pronunciation and Soft Skills’ was organized by the Department of English at Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala from 17 September to 21September 2024. This workshop intended to equip the students with practical and theoretical skills in English language and to train them in the soft skills. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Vaneet Kaur, Head of English Department, Prof. Harpreet Singh and Prof. Tanvir Kaur from the Department. Mr. Vivek Tiwari, Principal, DAV School, Patiala was the chief guest and presided over the valedictory session of the workshop.
The college Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal congratulated the Department for organizing the workshop and said that language skills should not be confined to their functionality rather should extend to the philosophical and aesthetic levels. He told that the college has updated language software and language labs.
Dr. Vaneet Kaur, Head, Department of English and Convener of the workshop welcomed the chief guest and all the participants. She said that the basic objective of this workshop was to sharpen the English language skills of the students. She also motivated the students to learn soft skills and effective communication skills for success in their careers.
Mr. Vivek Tiwari emphasized upon the importance of English language for successful career and for good job prospects. He said that such workshops are good platform to engage with the complexities and contradictions of English language.
Sharing their feedback about the workshop, one of the students Bhavya said that this was quite engaging and enriching experience. Another student James Walia told that the workshop was successful in enhancing their pronunciation and grammar. Another student Diya also appreciated the learning methodologies of the workshop. Certificates of participation were also distributed to the students.
Prof. Harpreet Singh presented the vote of thanks and the stage was conducted by Prof. Tanvir Kaur. Around 75 students attended this workshop. Prof. Gaganpreet Kaur, Prof. Amandeep Kaur, Prof. Sukhpal Sharma and Prof. Maninder Kaur from the Department of English worked hard to make this workshop a success.

ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ 17 ਸਿਤੰਬਰ, 2024 ਤੋਂ 21 ਸਿਤੰਬਰ, 2024 ਤੱਕ ‘ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ, ਉਚਾਰਣ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਫਟ ਸਕਿੱਲਜ਼’ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ‘ਤੇ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਪੰਜ ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਅੱਜ ਸਪੰਨ ਹੋ ਗਈ।। ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰੈਕਟੀਕਲ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਧਾਂਤਕ ਹੁਨਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੈਸ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਫਟ ਸਕਿੱਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਦੇਣਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦਾ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਡਾ. ਵਨੀਤ ਕੌਰ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਤਨਵੀਰ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ । ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਡੀ.ਏ.ਵੀ ਸਕੂਲ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਵਿਵੇਕ ਤਿਵਾੜੀ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਪਤੀ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਗੀ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ.ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦੇ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਲਈ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਹੁਨਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ -ਵਿਹਾਰ ਤੱਕ ਸੀਮਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ, ਸਗੋਂ ਦਾਰਸ਼ਨਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਹਜ ਦੇ ਪੱਧਰ ਤੇ ਵੀ ਸਿੱਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਡੀਨ ਡਾ. ਰੋਹਿਤ ਸਚਦੇਵਾ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਸਾਫਟਵੇਅਰ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਲੈਬ ਨੂੰ ਨਵੀ ਤਕਨੌਲੌਜੀ ਨਾਲ ਅਪਡੇਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਡਾ. ਵਨੀਤ ਕੌਰ, ਮੁਖੀ, ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਹੁਨਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਖਾਰਨਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੈਰੀਅਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਾਫਟ ਸਕਿੱਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਪੱਕ ਹੋਣ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਸੰਚਾਰ ਹੁਨਰ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਵਿਵੇਕ ਤਿਵਾੜੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਫਲ ਕੈਰੀਅਰ ਅਤੇ ਵਧੀਆ ਨੌਕਰੀ ਲਈ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁਹਾਰਤ ਹਾਸ਼ਿਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।ੳਹੁਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਾਂ ਰਾਹੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੀਕੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਆਕਰਣ ਬਿਹਤਰ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਿੱਖ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਬਾਰੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕਿਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ, ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਭਵਿਆ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਦਿਲਚਸਪ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਸੀ। ਇਕ ਹੋਰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਜੇਮਜ਼ ਵਾਲੀਆ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਆਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਵਿਚ ਸਫਲ ਰਹੀ। ਇਕ ਹੋਰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣ ਦੀਆ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਪਣਾਏ ਗਾਏ ਸਿਖਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਢੰਗਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਪਤੀ ਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ- ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਸਹਿਬਾਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਟੀਫਿਕੇਟ ਵੀ ਵੰਡੇ ਗਏ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਤਾ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਟੇਜ ਦਾ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਤਨਵੀਰ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ ।ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗਭਗ 75 ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ। ਇਸ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਫਲ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਗਗਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਅਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸੁਖਪਾਲ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਮਨਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਰਿਹਾ।
