Modi College Students Shine in Electoral Literacy Competitions

The Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) of Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala, under the SVEEP programme, participated in the Assembly-Level (115-Patiala) Inter-College Competitions organised by the Office of the Electoral Registration Officer, 115-Patiala, at Government State College of Education, Patiala. The competitions aimed to promote voter awareness and voter literacy, highlight the importance of voting, encourage democratic participation, and sensitise young voters towards their moral responsibility to exercise their right to vote.
The college participated in five events, namely Slogan Writing, Mehndi, Declamation, Poster Making and Rangoli, and secured positions in two events. Diljeet Kaur, a student of BCom 2nd Year, bagged the First Position in Slogan Writing, while Babita, a student of B.A. 3rd Year, secured the Second Position in Mehndi.
Congratulating the students on their remarkable achievement, Dr. Neeraj Goyal, Principal, Multani Mal Modi College, appreciated their talent and enthusiasm. He also commended the In-charge of the ELC Club and Nodal Officer, SVEEP, Dr. Maninder Deep Cheema, for her dedicated efforts towards promoting electoral awareness, voter education and active democratic participation among students. The Vice Principal of the College, Prof. Jagdeep Kaur also congratulated the students and the ELC In-charge for their commendable performance and efforts in promoting electoral literacy among young voters.

ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਚੋਣ ਸਾਖਰਤਾ ਕਲੱਬ (ELC) ਨੇ SVEEP ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਤਹਿਤ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਸਟੇਟ ਕਾਲਜ ਆਫ਼ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਚੋਣ ਰਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ, 115-ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਪੱਧਰੀ (115-ਪਟਿਆਲਾ) ਅੰਤਰ-ਕਾਲਜ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੋਟ ਪਾਉਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨਾ, ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦੇਣਾ, ਵੋਟ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਦੱਸਣਾ, ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੋਟ ਦੇ ਹੱਕ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਨੈਤਿਕ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਨੇ ਪੰਜ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ—ਨਾਅਰਾ ਲਿਖਣ, ਮਹਿੰਦੀ, ਭਾਸ਼ਣ, ਪੋਸਟਰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਰੰਗੋਲੀ—ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਦੋ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਾਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਬੀ.ਕਾਮ. ਦੂਜੇ ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣ ਦਿਲਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਨਾਅਰਾ ਲਿਖਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਦਕਿ ਬੀ.ਏ. ਤੀਜੇ ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣ ਬਬੀਤਾ ਨੇ ਮਹਿੰਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੂਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ’ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ELC ਕਲੱਬ ਦੀ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਅਤੇ SVEEP ਦੀ ਨੋਡਲ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਡਾ. ਮਨਿੰਦਰ ਦੀਪ ਚੀਮਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ, ਵੋਟਰ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰੀ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ੰਸਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਵਾਈਸ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਜਗਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ELC ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਨੂੰ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੋਣ ਸਾਖਰਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾਯੋਗ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
