Awareness Campaign on ‘My Vote, My Duty’ by SVEEP Wing at Admission Cell of Modi College

The SVEEP (Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation) wing of Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala today organized a special awareness Campaign “My Vote, My Duty” under the guidelines of the Election Commission of India and the District Commissioner Office, Patiala. The main objective of this campaign was to discuss with the students and the general public about our fundamental right to vote and elect in a fair and fearless way.
College Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal while addressing the students and their parents at the Admission Cell said that it is our prime responsibility as responsible citizens to cast our vote in an honest way and to select a deserving candidate as our Lok Sabha representative.
Dr. Maninder Deep Cheema, Nodal Officer, SVEEP wing said that it is the flagship program of the Election Commission of India for voter education, spreading voter awareness and promoting voter literacy in India. It is a multi-intervention that reaches out through different modes and media to educate citizens, electors, and voters about the electoral process in order to increase their awareness and promote their informed participation.
In this event Flying Officer, Dr. Sumeet Kumar, Lt. (Dr.) Rohit Sachdeva, Dr. Sukhdev Singh, Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Dr. Kavita, Dr. Rupinder Singh Dhillon, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Dr. Pooja and Dr. Kuldeep Kaur were present.

ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਸਵੀਪ ਵਿੰਗ (ਸਿਸਟਮੈਟਿਕ ਵੋਟਰਜ਼ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਐਂਡ ਇਲੈਕਟੋਰਲ ਪਾਰਟੀਸਪੇਸ਼ਨ) ਵਿੰਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅੱਜ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਚੋਣ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ-ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਤਹਿਤ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ‘ਮੇਰੀ ਵੋਟ, ਮੇਰਾ ਫਰਜ਼’ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਮ ਪਬਲਿਕ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਰਪੱਖ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਡਰ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੋਟ ਪਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਦੇ ਮੌਲਿਕ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ: ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਦਾਖਲਾ ਸੈੱਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਤੇ ਇਹ ਸਾਡੀ ਮੁੱਖ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਵੋਟ ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਈਏ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਯੋਗ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਨਿਧੀ ਚੁਣੀਏ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਸਵੀਪ ਵਿੰਗ ਦੇ ਨੋਡਲ ਅਫਸਰ ਡਾ. ਮਨਿੰਦਰ ਦੀਪ ਚੀਮਾ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੋਟਰ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ, ਵੋਟਰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਫੈਲਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਵੋਟਰ ਸਾਖਰਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਵੀਪ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਚੋਣ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਬਹੁ-ਪਰਤੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੋਣ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਸਾਧਨਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।
