New Academic Session Commences at Multani Mal Modi College with Two Days Student Orientation Programme
Patiala: 29 July, 2025
Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala organized a two-day orientation programme for the newly admitted students. The objective of this programme was to introduce the new students to the academic traditions, ethos and academic culture of the college as well as to make them aware of available facilities, courses, and different departments of the college specially after acquiring status of an autonomous college.
College Principal Dr.Neeraj Goyal inaugurated the programme and welcomed the new students in the college campus. He said that human potential and capabilities are limitless but one needs to learn the professional, technical and critical skills to excel in life. He motivated the students to utilize the acquired knowledge for transformation and betterment of the society.
Dr.(Lt) Rohit Schdeva, Dean Academics, discussed with the students various newly introduced add-on certificates and diploma certificates, internship trainings, Placement Cell and Finishing school programmes run by the college for polishing the talent and potential of the students. He said that our learning environment is a blend of theoretical understanding, industry oriented skill trainings and practical approach to the subject area.
Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, Controller of Examination, discussed the annual calendar, unit planning, mandatory lecture requirements, Digi-lockers and other administrative arrangements at the college. He motivated the students to follow discipline and guidelines of the college.
Dr. Ajit Kumar, Registrar of the college discussed the policies of Anti-Ragging cell and rules and regulations of the college.
Dr. Rajeev Sharma, Head, Department of Chemistry, discussed about the significance of Red Ribbon Club and Buddy programme. He also discussed about the significance of scientific courses and their relevance in developing scientific temperament among society.
Prof. Jagdeep Kaur, Incharge of Women cell discussed about the working of the Women cell in the college and facilities available for the girl students. She said that students should maintain decorum and should not involve in any unlawful activities.
Dr. Deepika Singla, Dean Publication discussed the importance of publication wing of the college. She also shared the information about publication facilities for the students in different literary magazines run by the college and the role of library in shaping their careers.
Dr. Sumeet Kumar, Dean Sports and Flying Officer of NCC (Air wing) discussed the eligibility criteria and the significance of NCC Air wing for the students. Dr. (Lt) Nidhi Rani Gupta elaborated the eligibility criteria and the significance of NCC for the students.
Dr. Ganesh Sethi, Department of Computer Science told the students about various SC/BC/Minority scholarship schemes and activities of General Study Circle.
Dr. Harmohan Sharma, Department of Computer Science explained the significance of different societies, clubs and wall magazines run by the college.
Dr. Nishan Singh, Dean Student Welfare briefed about the achievements and activities of the Sports Department. He motivated the students to participate at least in one sport to stay fit and healthy. He told that students may approach him in case of any grievances.
Dr. Rupinder Singh, Assistant Professor, Punjabi Department and in charge of the BSG explained the enrolment process and various activities for the Bharat Scouts and Guides Wing.
Prof. Vinay Garg, Head, Department of Computer Science elaborated the informational systems of the college and usages of LMS.
The various informational sessions were chaired by Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Prof. Parminder Kaur, Dr. Gagandeep kaur, Dr.Veerpal kaur, Dr. Vaneet kaur and Dr. Veenu Jain.
This programme was successfully conducted with the support and coordination of all staff members of the colleges.

ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਵੇਂ ਦਾਖ਼ਲ ਹੋਏ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਦੋ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਓਰੀਐਂਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਮਕਸਦ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਪਰੰਪਰਾ, ਮੂਲ ਮਾਨਤਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਕਾਲਜ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ੁਦਮੁਖ਼ਤਿਆਰ ਦਰਜਾ ਮਿਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਉਪਲਬਧ ਸੁਵਿਧਾਵਾਂ, ਨਵੇਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੇ ਕੋਰਸਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦੇਣੀ ਸੀ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਓਰੀਐਂਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਦਘਾਟਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਗਤਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਹੱਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਪਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਫਲ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੇਸ਼ੇਵਰ, ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਲੋਚਨਾਤਮਕ ਹੁਨਰ ਸਿੱਖਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਬਦਲਾਅ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਹਤਰੀ ਲਈ ਵਰਤਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਡਾ. (ਲੈਫ.) ਰੋਹਿਤ ਸਚਦੇਵਾ, ਡੀਨ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਵੇਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੇ ਐਡ-ਆਨ ਸਰਟੀਫਿਕੇਟ ਅਤੇ ਡਿਪਲੋਮਾ ਕੋਰਸਾਂ, ਇੰਟਰਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਟ੍ਰੇਨਿੰਗਾਂ, ਪਲੇਸਮੈਂਟ ਸੈੱਲ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਨਿਸ਼ਿੰਗ ਸਕੂਲ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਾਡਾ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਥਿਊਰੀ, ਉਦਯੋਗ ਅਧਾਰਿਤ ਹੁਨਰ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੰਤਰ-ਸੰਵਾਦ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
ਡਾ. ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਕੰਟਰੋਲਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਖਿਆਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਲਾਨਾ ਕੈਲੰਡਰ, ਯੂਨਿਟ ਪਲਾਨਿੰਗ, ਲਾਜ਼ਮੀ ਲੈਕਚਰ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ, ਡਿਜ਼ੀ-ਲੌਕਰਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਹਦਾਇਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਡਾ. ਅਜੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਨੇ ਐਂਟੀ-ਰੈਗਿੰਗ ਸੈੱਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਨੀਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਨਿਯਮਾਂ-ਕਾਇਦਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
ਡਾ. ਰਾਜੀਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਮੁਖੀ, ਰਸਾਇਣ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਰੈੱਡ ਰਿਬਨ ਕਲੱਬ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਡੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਤੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਕੋਰਸਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਹਿਮੀਅਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਸੋਚ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਉਤੇ ਵੀ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਪਾਈ।
ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਜਗਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ, ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਵੂਮੈਨ ਸੈੱਲ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੜਕੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਉਪਲਬਧ ਸੁਵਿਧਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵੂਮੈਨ ਸੈੱਲ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਗੁਜ਼ਾਰੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਲੀਕਾ ਬਰਕਰਾਰ ਰੱਖਣ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਗੈਰਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
ਡਾ. ਦੀਪਿਕਾ ਸਿੰਗਲਾ, ਡੀਨ ਪਬਲਿਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਪਬਲਿਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੰਗ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਉਪਲਬਧ ਪਬਲਿਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਮੌਕਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਲਾਇਬ੍ਰੇਰੀ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ।
ਡਾ. ਸੁਮੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਡੀਨ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਫਲਾਇੰਗ ਅਫਸਰ, ਐਨ.ਸੀ.ਸੀ (ਏਅਰ ਵਿੰਗ) ਦੇ ਫਲਾਇੰਗ ਅਫਸਰ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਐਨ.ਸੀ.ਸੀ ਏਅਰ ਵਿੰਗ ਲਈ ਯੋਗਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਡਾ. (ਲੈਫ) ਨਿਧੀ ਰਾਣੀ ਗੁਪਤਾ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਐਨ.ਸੀ.ਸੀ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਗਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਦੱਸਿਆ।
ਡਾ. ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਸੈਠੀ, ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਐਸ.ਸੀ /ਬੀ.ਸੀ /ਅਲਪ ਸੰਖਿਅਕ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਸਕਾਲਰਸ਼ਿਪ ਯੋਜਨਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਨਰਲ ਸਟਡੀ ਸਰਕਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ।
ਡਾ. ਹਰਮੋਹਨ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰਜਣਾਤਮਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਪੱਖੀ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਲਈ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀਆਂ, ਕਲੱਬਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਲ ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ।
ਡਾ. ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡੀਨ ਸਟੂਡੈਂਟ ਵੇਲਫੇਅਰ ਨੇ ਖੇਡ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੀਆਂ ਉਪਲਬਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਘੱਟੋ ਘੱਟ ਇੱਕ ਖੇਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕਾਲਜ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਲਈ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਹੋਰ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਨਾਲ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਡਾ. ਰੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਸਕਾਊਟਸ ਐਂਡ ਗਾਈਡਜ਼ (ਬੀ.ਸੀ.ਜੀ ) ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਵਿੰਗ ਦੀ ਭਰਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਵਿਨੇ ਗਰਗ, ਮੁਖੀ, ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਇੰਫਰਮੇਸ਼ਨਲ ਸਿਸਟਮ ਅਤੇ ਐਲ.ਏ.ਐੱਮ.ਐੱਸ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਦੱਸਿਆ।

ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਸਾਰੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਅਤੇ ਸਹਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਫਲਤਾਪੂਰਕ ਸਿਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਿਆ।
