            Multani Mal Modi College Patiala won the Punjabi University Inter-College Lawn Tennis Championship by defeating Punjabi University Campus team. The winning team of Modi College comprises of Rubal Shandeliya, Ronit Singh Bisht, Sandeep Kumar, Sourav Sharma and Kunwar Sohrab. The tournament was held at Modi College here. Teams of National College of Physical Education Chupki (Patiala) and Shaheed Kanshi Ram College of Physical Education, Bhago Majra (Kharar) got third and fourth position respectively. Modi College student Mr Rubal Shandeliya was adjudged the best player of the tournament.

            S. Amrinder Singh Bazaz, Mayor, Patiala and Sh. S. S. Toor, Deputy Director, Punjab School Sports, Chandigarh gave away the trophies and the prizes to the winner teams. Speaking on the occasion Sh. Amrinder Singh Bazaz emphasized the need to promote sports as it is the only way, the youth of Punjab can be saved from the brutal clutches of drugs and alcohol.

            The College Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar welcomed the guests and players and informed about the college achievements in the field of sports. Dr. Harcharan Singh, Registrar of the College, conducted the stage and Dr. Gurdeep Singh, Chairman, College Sports Committee presented the vote of thanks.
