Multani Mal Modi College Secures 2nd Position in Inter-College Chess Championship at DAV Bathinda

Multani Mal Modi College secured 2nd position in the Inter-College Chess Championship (Men) held at DAV College, Bathinda on February 4-5, 2025. The winning team comprised Uday Pratap Bawa, Sameer Kumar, Chirag Pathak, Pushppreet Sharma, and Navjot Singh. The college team scored 13 points out of 16 in 4 rounds to secure the runners-up position. During the Inter-University Chess Team trials, team member Uday Pratap Bawa was selected to represent Punjabi University.
College Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal and Dean Sports Dr. Sumeet Kumar congratulated the winning team. The Principal also applauded the sincere efforts of the teachers-in-charge of sports activities – Dr. Nishan Singh, Head, Dept. of Physical Education, Dr. Harneet Singh, and Ms. Mandeep Kaur. They also praised the efforts of Sh. Vinod Sharma, Chess Team Coach, who conducted trials for the college Chess team and selected the final five players.
