MODI COLLEGE WINS PUNJABI UNIVERSITY PENCAK SILAT MARTIAL ARTS INTER COLLEGE OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Multani Mal Modi College has won the Punjabi University Inter-College PENCAK SILAT MARTIAL ARTS (Boys and Girls) overall Championship. This championship was organized at Baba Zorawar Singh Fateh Singh Khalsa Girls College, Morinda. Modi College (Boys) team secured first position by defeating the team of Govt. College, Ropar.
College team was comprised of Manik Bawa, Puneet Pal Singh, Sahil Dhingra, Dupinder Thapa, Raman, Rahul Sharma, Ramanjeet and Saksham. Manik Bawa (60kg Weight Category), Sahil Dhingra (70kg Weight Category) and Puneet Pal Singh (75kg Weight Category) and won Gold Medal, while Dupinder Thapa (90kg Weight Category) won Silver Medals and Saksham (65kg Weight Category) bagged Bronze Medal. In the Artistic event of this competition our college players Raman, Manik Bawa and Rahul Sharma won Gold Medal and Ramanjeet won Silver Medal, in this event Nitin won Bronze Medal.
In Girls competition Modi College team won second position. Modi team comprised Himanshi Singla, Riya, Rachna and Manpreet Kaur. Himanshi Singla (60kg weight category) and Riya (65kg weight category) won Silver Medals and Rachna (55kg weight category) won Bronze Medal in this competition. In Artistic event, Himanshi, Manpreet Kaur and Riya won Bronze Medals. It’s worth mentioning here that out of 16 Inter-college competitions conducted so far by Punjabi University, Patiala, Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala bagged 12 Inter-College Championships.
College Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar congratulated the team members and assured that college will keep on providing the best facilities to the college sports persons.

ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਬਾਬਾ ਜ਼ੋਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਫਤਿਹ ਸਿੰਘ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਗਰਲਜ਼ ਕਾਲਜ, ਮੋਰਿੰਡਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਸੰਪਨ ਹੋਈ ਦੋ-ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਅੰਤਰ-ਕਾਲਜ ਪੈਨਸੇਕ ਸਿਲਾਇਟ ਮਾਰਸ਼ਲ ਆਰਟਸ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਯੋਗਤਾ (ਲੜਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਲੜਕੀਆਂ) ਵਿੱਚ ਓਵਰਆਲ ਟ੍ਰਾਫੀ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ (ਲੜਕਿਆਂ) ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਰੋਪੜ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾ ਕੇ ਓਵਰਆਲ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਇਸ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੜਕਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਈਵੇਂਟ ਫਾਈਟਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਮਾਨਿਕ ਬਾਵਾ (60 ਕਿਲੋਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਵਰਗ), ਸਾਹਿਲ ਢਿੰਗਰਾ (70 ਕਿਲੋਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਵਰਗ) ਅਤੇ ਪੁਨੀਤਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ (75 ਕਿਲੋਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਵਰਗ) ਨੇ ਗੋਲਡ ਮੈਡਲ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਥਾਪਾ (90 ਕਿਲੋਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਵਰਗ) ਚਾਂਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਰਮਨ (55 ਕਿਲੋਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਵਰਗ) ਅਤੇ ਸਕਸ਼ਮ (65 ਕਿਲੋਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਵਰਗ) ਨੇ ਕਾਂਸੀ ਦਾ ਤਗਮਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਰਟੀਸਟਿਕ ਈਵੇਂਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਰਮਨ, ਮਾਨਿਕ ਬਾਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਹੁਲ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਗੋਲਡ ਮੈਡਲ ਜਿੱਤੇ, ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਰਮਨਜੀਤ ਨੇ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦਾ ਤਗਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਨੀਤਿਨ ਨੇ ਕਾਂਸੀ ਦਾ ਤਗਮਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੜਕੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਦੂਜੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਰਹੀ। ਇਸ ਟੀਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿਮਾਂਸ਼ੀ ਸਿੰਗਲਾ (60 ਕਿਲੋਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਵਰਗ) ਅਤੇ ਰਿਆ (65 ਕਿਲੋਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਵਰਗ) ਵਿੱਚ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦੀ ਤਗਮਾ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਰਚਨਾ (55 ਕਿਲੋਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਵਰਗ) ਨੇ ਕਾਂਸੀ ਦੀ ਤਗਮਾ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ। ਆਰਟਿਸਟਿਕ ਇਵੇਂਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿਮਾਂਸ਼ੀ, ਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਰਿਆ ਨੇ ਕਾਂਸੀ ਦੇ ਤਗਮੇ ਜਿੱਤੇ। ਇੱਥੇ ਜ਼ਿਕਰਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ 16 ਅੰਤਰ-ਕਾਲਜ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 12 ਅੰਤਰ-ਕਾਲਜ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਜਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਜੇਤੂ ਟੀਮ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕਾਲਜ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ‘ਤੇ ਬੇਹੱਦ ਮਾਣ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਲੋੜੀਂਦੀ ਸਹੂਲਤ ਉਪਲਬਧ ਕਰਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਡੀਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਖੀ, ਖੇਡ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਡਾ. ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਜੇਤੂ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਬਾਰਕਬਾਦ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਸ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਰਹੇਗਾ। ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਨੇ ਡਾ. ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡਾ. ਹਰਨੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਦੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
