M. M. Modi College Patiala wins Punjabi University Overall Inter College Soft Tennis Championship

M. M. Modi College, Patiala won Punjabi University Overall Inter College Soft Tennis Championship by defeating Boys and Girls teams of Govt. Rajindra College, Bathinda here today on the concluding Day of Inter-College Soft Tennis Championship (Boys and Girls). Modi college Boys team was represented by Pankaj Garg, Yogi Panwar, Navneet, Anuj Raheja, Sonu and Amit Dhaiya. The Girls team was comprising of Simriti Purnima, Diksha Sharma, Diya Rana, Muskan, Rachna and Pooja.
Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar welcomed the guests and participants and presented trophies to the winners. He appreciated the spirit of sportsmanship displayed by the students during the tournament and advised them to show this in other walks of life. He said that apart from various facilities provided to the sportspersons, college provides prize money to the National and International winners of various games.
Dean Sports, Dr. Nishan Singh congratulated the staff members of the sports department and all other officials who contributed to the successful conclusion of the tournament. He appreciated the efforts of Dr. Harneet Singh and Prof. Mandeep Kaur in the smooth conduct of matches and guidance provided to the sportspersons.

ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਸੰਪੰਨ ਹੋਈ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਓਵਰਆਲ ਸਾਫ਼ਟ ਟੈਨਿਸ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ (ਲੜਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਲੜਕੀਆਂ) ਟਰਾਫੀ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਰਜਿੰਦਰਾ ਕਾਲਜ, ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਦੀ ਲੜਕਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਲੜਕੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾ ਕੇ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਈ ਹੈ। ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਜੇਤੂ ਲੜਕਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਕਜ ਗਰਗ, ਯੋਗੀ ਪਨਵਰ, ਨਵਨੀਤ, ਅਨੁਜ਼ ਰਹੇਜਾ, ਸੋਨੂ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਿਤ ਧਹੀਆ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੜਕੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਰਿਤੀ ਪੂਰਨੀਮਾ, ਦਿਕਸ਼ਾ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਦਿਯਾ ਰਾਣਾ, ਮੁਸਕਾਨ, ਰਚਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਪੂਜਾ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਕਾਲਜਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ।
ਇਸ ਟੂਰਨਾਮੈਂਟ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਪਤੀ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਜੇਤੂ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਟਰਾਫੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ। ਇਸ ਅਵਸਰ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਕਾਲਜਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਆਈਆਂ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਟੂਰਨਾਮੈਂਟ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਉਸਾਰੂ ਖੇਡ-ਭਾਵਨਾ ਲਈ ਮੁਬਾਰਕਬਾਦ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਖਸ਼ੀਅਤ ਦੇ ਸਰਵਪੱਖੀ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਅਹਿਮ ਮਾਧਿਅਮ ਹਨ। ਖੇਡਾਂ ਕੇਵਲ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਤੰਦਰੁਸਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਦੀਆਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਮਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਕਾਲਜ ਆਪਣੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਈ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਕੌਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਕੌਮਾਂਤਰੀ ਪੱਧਰ ਤੇ ਜੇਤੂ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਕਦ ਇਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਵੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਅਵਸਰ ਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਡੀਨ ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਡਾ. ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਟੂਰਨਾਮੈਂਟ ਨੂੰ ਸਫ਼ਲਤਾ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਨੇਪਰੇ ਚਾੜ੍ਹਣ ਲਈ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਖੇਡ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਚੇਚੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਖੇਡ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਡਾ. ਹਰਨੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਡਮ ਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਦੀ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਗ ਅਗੁਵਾਈ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀ।
