College Wins Punjabi University Cycling (Road) Men and Women Championships

Multani Mal Modi College has won the Inter-College Cycling (Road) Men and Women Championships held at Rajpura Byepass Road on Aug. 29, 2017. The winning team comprised of Rajbir Singh, Amanpreet, Naman Kapil, Sukhdeep Singh and Sukhbir Singh. The college Road-Cycling (Women) Team also got the 1st position in this championship. The team comprised Sonali, Sarita and Avneet Sharma. It may be added here that Mr. Rajbir Singh is also member of Asian Championship team of India.

The college Principal, Dr. Khushvinder Kumar appreciated the sports persons and said that these sportspersons will be duly rewarded during the Annual Prize Distribution Function of the College. Dr. Gurdeep Singh, Dean, Sports Committee of the College, congratulated the winning teams. The Principal also applauded the sincere efforts of the teachers of sports department, Prof. Nishan Singh, Prof. Harneet Singh and Ms. Mandeep Kaur for providing guidance and other facilities needed for regular practice of sports persons.

ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਅੰਤਰ-ਕਾਲਜ ਰੋਡ-ਸਾਈਕਲਿੰਗ (ਲੜਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਲੜਕੀਆਂ) ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਜਿੱਤੀਆਂ

ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਰੋਡ-ਸਾਈਕਲਿੰਗ ਟੀਮ (ਲੜਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਲੜਕੀਆਂ) ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਅੰਤਰ-ਕਾਲਜ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਈ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਰਾਜਪੁਰਾ ਬਾਈਪਾਸ ਰੋਡ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ 29 ਅਗਸਤ, 2017 ਨੂੰ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਟੀਮ ਵਿਚ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਰਾਜਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਅਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ, ਨਮਨ ਕਪਿਲ, ਸੁਖਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਖਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰੋਡ ਸਾਈਕਲਿੰਗ (ਲੜਕੀਆਂ) ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਯੋਗਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਟੀਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੋਨਾਲੀ, ਸਰੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਵਨੀਤ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ। ਇਥੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਵਰਨਣਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਟੀਮ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਰਾਜਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਏਸ਼ੀਅਨ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਖੇਡਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੀਮ ਦਾ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਵੀ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੇਤੂ ਟੀਮ ਦਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਤੇ ਗਰਮਜੋਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਅਵਸਰ ਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕਾਲਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੇਵਲ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਖੇਡ-ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿਚ ਯੋਗ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਮਦਦ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ, ਸਗੋਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿਚ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਕਾਲਜ ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦੇ ਡੀਨ, ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਨੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਜਿੱਤ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਬਾਰਕਬਾਦ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਟੀਮ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਹਰਨੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. (ਮਿਸ) ਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਦੀ ਕਰੜੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਅਤੇ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀ।
