Multani Mal Modi College Declared Overall Champion in Punjabi University Inter-College Competitions
M M Modi College, Patiala was declared Overall Champion in Inter-college Competitions of Punjabi University, Patiala for the year 2014-15. The college organized a function to celebrate its victory and felicitate its sports persons. Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar praised the performance of the students in their respective games and told that an efficient system for academic and financial support of sportsperson is in place in the college. He assured that this system will be further strengthened to improve the performance of the students.
Dr. Gurdeep Singh, Dean, Sports told that our college participated in 41 out of 51 championships organized by the University. He further told that 28 students of the college were awarded more than Rs. 12,00,000 as cash prizes from the Punjabi University, Patiala. Dr. Jaspal Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Punjabi University, Patiala gave a cheque of substantial amount to the Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar for appreciating the role of the college in enhancing the overall position of the University in the field of sports at the national level.
Prof. Nishan Singh, Head, Sports Dept., Prof. Harneet Singh and Prof. Mandeep Kaur of the sports department applauded the achievements of the sports persons and thanked the staff of the college for their continuous support to the departmental activities.
Prof. Nirmal Singh, Prof. (Mrs.) Poonam Malhotra, Prof. Sharwan Kumar and Prof. V. P. Sharma were present on the occasion.

ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਅੰਤਰ-ਕਾਲਜ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਓਵਰਆਲ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨ ਘੋਸ਼ਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ
ਅੱਜ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ 2014-15 ਵਿਚ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ ਅੰਤਰ-ਕਾਲਜ ਮੁਕਾਬਿਲਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਓਵਰਆਲ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨ ਘੋਸ਼ਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਕਾਲਜ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਮਨਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਹੌਂਸਲਾ ਅਫ਼ਜ਼ਾਈ ਲਈ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਲੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਲਈ ਇਕ ਖਾਸ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਯੋਗਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਂਚੇਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਰ ਮਜਬੂਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡੀਨ, ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਾਲਜ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸਾਲ 51 ਵਿਚੋਂ 41 ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਵਿਚ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ 28 ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ 12 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਤੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਦੇ ਨਕਦੀ ਇਨਾਮ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਵਾਈਸ ਚਾਂਸਲਰ ਡਾ. ਜਸਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਣਤਾ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ, ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ.ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਇਨਾਮ ਰਾਸ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਚੈਂਕ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਹਰਨੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਉਪਲੱਭਦੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਦੇ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਲਈ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. (ਮਿਸਿਜ਼) ਪੂਨਮ ਮਲਹੋਤਰਾ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸ਼ਰਵਨ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਵੇਦ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਵੀ ਮੌਜ਼ੂਦ ਸਨ।
