BSG Unit of Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala participated in Patiala Heritage Walk

In the royal city of Patiala, the ‘Patiala Heritage Foundation’ organised a ‘Heritage Walk’ every year in February as part of the heritage festival celebrated across the entire city. This year the walk was organised on 20th February, 2026 and 35 Rovers and Rangers of Bharat Scouts and Guides Unit, Multani Mall Modi College, Patiala participated in it. The objective of this activity was to create awareness among students about Patiala city’s rich cultural heritage, historical monuments, various sites and art forms, so that a sense of pride and responsibility towards preserving their rich heritage could be instilled in them.
This Heritage Walk, joined by famous personalities from various fields, administrators, artists and students, started at 9 AM from the Shahi Smadhan and passed through Dal-Dalia Chowk, Jain Havelis, Chhatta Nanu Mall Ghar, Bartan Bazaar, Snakes street, ancient temple, Darshani Deodi, Kotwali, etc., before reaching Qila Mubarak. Rover Dhruv said that through this rally, he gained a lot of new information about Patiala city. Rover Satdeep Singh shared that much about the life of Patiala’s founder Baba Ala Singh and other Maharajas became clear to him, which was previously vague based on limited knowledge. Ranger Manpreet Kaur, while praising the architecture of the forts and the vibrant golden patterns of art, considered this walk a memorable one.
The Patiala Foundation distributed certificates to the participants and arranged refreshments. Administrative and organizing officials expressed happiness over the success of the walk and thanked Modi College Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal, Ranger Leader Dr. Veenu Jain, Rover Scouts Leader Dr. Rupinder Singh, and all Rangers/Rovers, while expressing hope that they remain connected for future activities. The unit leaders stated that in the future as well, they will be ready to offer their services for active participation from the college in Patiala Heritage Foundation and administrative activities, as well as social welfare works.

ਮਾਲਵਾ ਖੇਤਰ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਫਰਵਰੀ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੂਰੇ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਨਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਵਿਰਾਸਤੀ ਉਤਸਵਾਂ ਅਧੀਨ ‘ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਹੈਰੀਟੇਜ ਫਾਊਂਡੇਸ਼ਨ’ ਵਲੋਂ 20 ਫ਼ਰਵਰੀ, 2026 ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਰਾਸਤੀ ਪੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦੀ ਇੱਕ ‘ਹੈਰੀਟੇਜ ਵਾਕ’ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਸਕਾਊਟਸ ਐਂਡ ਗਾਈਡਜ਼ ਯੂਨਿਟ ਦੇ 35 ਰੋਵਰਜ਼ ਤੇ ਰੇਂਜਰਜ਼ ਨੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ। ਇਹ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਅਮੀਰ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਵਿਰਸੇ,ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਯਾਦਗਾਰਾਂ, ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਲਾ ਰੂਪਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ, ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਮੀਰ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ- ਸੰਭਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਮਾਣ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ। ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਸਿਆਸਤਦਾਨਾਂ, ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮਸ਼ੂਹਰ ਹਸਤੀਆਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਉੱਚ-ਅਹੁਦੇਦਾਰਾਂ ,ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਕਾਂ,ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਜੋਈ ਇਹ ਹੈਰੀਟੇਜ ਵਾਕ ਸਵੇਰੇ 9 ਵਜੇ ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਸਮਾਧਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਦਾਲ- ਦਲੀਆ ਚੌਂਕ, ਜੈਨ ਹਵੇਲੀਆਂ, ਛੱਟਾ ਨਾਨੂਮੱਲ ਘਰ, ਬਰਤਨ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ, ਸੱਪਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਗਲੀ,ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨ ਮੰਦਿਰ, ਦਰਸ਼ਨੀ ਡਿਓਢੀ, ਕੋਤਵਾਲੀ ਆਦਿ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਗੁਜ਼ਰਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਵਿਖੇ ਪੁੱਜੀ। ਇਸ ਰੈਲੀ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਰੋਵਰ ਧਰੁਵ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਰੈਲੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਬਾਰੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਕੁਝ ਨਵੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਮਿਲੀ ।ਰੋਵਰ ਸਤਦੀਪ ਨੇ ਦਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਸੰਸਥਾਪਕ ਬਾਬਾ ਆਲਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਮਹਾਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਕੁਝ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਅਲਪ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਆਧਾਰਿਤ ਅਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਸੀ।ਰੇਂਜਰ ਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਇਮਾਰਤਸਾਜ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਲਾ ਦੇ ਵੰਨ- ਸੁਵੰਨੇ ਪੈਟਰਨਾ ਦੀ ਤਾਰੀਫ਼ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਇਸ ਵਾਕ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦਗਾਰੀ ਵਾਕ ਮੰਨਿਆ। ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਫਾਊਂਡੇਸ਼ਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਯੋਗੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਟੀਫਿਕੇਟ ਤਕਸੀਮ ਕਿਤੇ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਰਿਫਰੈਸ਼ਮੈਂਟ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ । ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸ਼ਨਿਕ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਵਾਕ ਦੀ ਸੰਪੂਰਨਤਾ ਉੱਤੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਇਜ਼ਹਾਰ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾਕਟਰ ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ, ਰੇਂਜਰ ਲੀਡਰ ਡਾ. ਵੀਨੂ ਜੈਨ, ਰੋਵਰ ਸਕਾਊਟਸ ਲੀਡਰ ਡਾ. ਰੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰੇਂਜਰਜ਼/ਰੋਵਰਜ਼ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਅਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਤੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਦੀਆਂ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਜੁੜੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਜਤਾਈ । ਯੂਨਿਟ ਲੀਡਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਹੈਰੀਟੇਜ ਫਾਊਂਡੇਸ਼ਨ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸ਼ਨਿਕ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ, ਸਮਾਜ ਭਲਾਈ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਲਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵਧ-ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਲਈ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ ।
