Observance of World Day of Social Justice through Donation Drive at Sai Birdh Ashram, Chaura Road, Patiala
The Youth Red Cross Unit of Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala organized a donation drive to commemorate World Day of Social Justice. On this occasion, the team visited Sai Birdh Ashram to distribute ration and essential commodities among the elderly residents. College Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal appreciated the initiative and reiterated that the college consistently upholds a strong commitment to community outreach and social responsibility. He remarked that such service-oriented activities reflect the true spirit of education and nurture empathy, compassion, and civic awareness among students.
Observed annually on 20th February, World Day of Social Justice underscores the principles of equality, human rights, and inclusive development, calling for collective efforts to support marginalized and vulnerable sections of society. The donation drive was organized by Dr. Heena Sachdeva in accordance with the humanitarian mission of the Youth Red Cross. Participating faculty members from the Department of Life Sciences and NSS volunteers extended financial support.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Dean, Life Sciences, Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, who emphasized the vital role of youth in advancing social justice and community welfare. Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, NSS unit incharge motivated students to make maximum contribution.
The initiative further strengthened the college’s dedication to humanitarian service and reinforced the values of empathy, social responsibility, and responsible citizenship among students.
