‘Rang De Basanti’ Cyclothon Rally Organized by MM Modi College to pay homage to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Shivaram Rajguru, and Shaheed Sukhdev Thapar

The NCC wings of Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala in collaboration with Patiala Club organized a Cyclothon Rally, ‘Rang De Basanti’, to pay tribute to the martyrs of India’s freedom struggle, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Shivaram Rajguru, and Shaheed Sukhdev Thapar. It exemplified the college’s dedication to social responsibility and community engagement, reinforcing the enduring legacy of the martyrs in shaping our nation’s identity. The event was also supported by Aggarwal Samaj Sabha, a renowned organization engaged in social service and welfare activities. Sh. Pawan Goyal from Aggarwal Samaj Sabha also joined the rally and motivated the participants with his wise words about Martyrs of the nation.
The rally was inaugurated by Mr. Vineet Kumar, DDG, Senior Executive Director, Netaji Subhash National Institute of Sports, Patiala, who flagged off the cyclists. Addressing the rally he said that these martyrs are example of patriotism and sacrifice for the greater cause of a progressive and independent country.
The rally saw participation from students and faculty members of the college, Members of ‘Fit India Movement’ from NIS, Members of The Patiala Club and Members of Aggarwal Samaj Sabha, who cycled through the city, spreading awareness about the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters.
Dr. Neeraj Goyal, Principal of Multani Mal Modi College, said, “Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Shivaram Rajguru, and Shaheed Sukhdev Thapar were not just martyrs, but symbols of courage, sacrifice, and patriotism. Their contributions to India’s freedom struggle will always be remembered and cherished. This cyclothon rally is a small tribute to their memory, and we hope it inspires our students to emulate their values.”
The rally passed through the monuments of historical importance and lanes of old Patiala city, giving the participants a glimpse into the city’s rich history and cultural heritage.
The rally was supervised by Dr. (Lt) Rohit Sachdeva, Dr. (Flying Officer) Sumeet Kumar, Dr. (Lt) Nidhi Rani Gupta, Dean Students’ Welfare Dr. Nishan Singh, Dy Controller Dr. Varun Jain, Ms. Mandeep Kaur, Sh. Ajay Gupta and Sh. Vinod Sharma along with other faculty of the college.
The Patiala Club also arranged refreshments for the cyclists, providing them with the necessary energy and motivation to complete the rally.
The rally was a resounding success, with participants and onlookers alike paying homage to the martyrs. The event was a testament to the college’s commitment to social responsibility and community engagement. Large numbers of students participated in this rally.

ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਐੱਨ. ਸੀ. ਸੀ. ਅਤੇ ਐੱਨ. ਐੱਸ. ਐੱਸ. ਵਿੰਗਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਕਲੱਬ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਸੁਤੰਤਰਤਾ ਸੰਗਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦਾਂ, ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਸ਼ਿਵਰਾਮ ਰਾਜਗੁਰੂ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਥਾਪਰ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਂਜਲੀ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਈਕਲੋਥੋਨ ਰੈਲੀ, “ਰੰਗ ਦੇ ਬਸੰਤੀ” ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਰੈਲੀ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਮਹਾਨ ਸ਼ਹੀਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਂਜਲੀ ਭੇਂਟ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਆਮ ਪਬਲਿਕ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਅਹਿਸਾਸ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਹਤ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ।ਇਹ ਰੈਲੀ ਸਮਾਜ ਸੇਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਲਿਆਣਕਾਰੀ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਗੇ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਸੰਗਠਨ ਅਗਰਵਾਲ ਸਮਾਜ ਸਭਾ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਪਵਨ ਗੋਇਲ ਉਚੇਚੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਏ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਧ ਚੜ ਕੇ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ।
ਇਸ ਰੈਲੀ ਦਾ ਉਦਘਾਟਨ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਵਿਨੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਡੀ.ਡੀ.ਜੀ, ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਐਗਜ਼ੀਕਿਊਟਿਵ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ, ਨੇਤਾ ਜੀ ਸੁਭਾਸ਼ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਇੰਸਟੀਚਿਊਟ ਆਫ਼ ਸਪੋਰਟਸ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਸਾਡੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਧਰੋਹਰ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਲਈ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ । ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਈਕਲ ਸਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਝੰਡੀ ਦਿਖਾ ਕੇ ਰਵਾਨਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਰੈਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਈਕਲ ਚਲਾ ਕੇ ਸੁਤੰਤਰਤਾ ਸੈਨਾਨੀਆਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਫੈਲਾਈ।
ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਸ਼ਿਵਰਾਮ ਰਾਜਗੁਰੂ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਥਾਪਰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ, ਬਲਕਿ ਸਾਹਸ, ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਭਗਤੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕ ਸਨ। ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਸੁਤੰਤਰਤਾ ਸੰਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਇਹ ਸਾਈਕਲੋਥੋਨ ਰੈਲੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਛੋਟੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਂਜਲੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਉਮੀਦ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਦਰਾਂ-ਕੀਮਤਾਂ ਅਪਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰੇਗੀ।
ਇਹ ਰੈਲੀ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਦੀਆਂ ਯਾਦਗਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਗਲੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੰਘੀ, ਜਿਸ ਰਾਹੀ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਅਮੀਰ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਦੀ ਝਲਕ ਮਿਲੀ।
ਇਸ ਰੈਲੀ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਡਾ. (ਲੈਫ਼ਟੀਨੈਂਟ) ਰੋਹਿਤ ਸਚਦੇਵਾ, ਡਾ. (ਫਲਾਇੰਗ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ) ਸੁਮੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. (ਲੈਫ਼ਟੀਨੈਂਟ) ਨਿਧੀ ਰਾਣੀ ਗੁਪਤਾ, ਡਾ. ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡਾ. ਵਰੁਨ ਜੈਨ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਅਜੇ ਗੁਪਤਾ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਵਿਨੋਦ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੀ l
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਕਲੱਬ ਨੇ ਸਾਈਕਲ ਸਵਾਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਰਿਫਰੈਸ਼ਮੈਂਟ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੈਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਲੋੜੀਂਦੀ ਊਰਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਨਾ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਰਹੀ।
ਇਹ ਰੈਲੀ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਸਾਬਤ ਹੋਈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਂਜਲੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਰੈਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਏ।
