Multani Mal Modi College Patiala organizes Book Exhibition and a special lecture on “Education, Literature, and Research in the era of Artificial Intelligence”

 

Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala, today organized a book exhibition and a special lecture on the topic “Education, Literature, and Research in the Era of Artificial Intelligence” as part of the the Modi Jayanti week celebrations. The event was hosted by the Post-Graduate Department of Punjabi and aimed to explore the impact of AI on education, literature, and research. The lecture was delivered by Dr. C.P. Kamboj, Assistant Professor, Department of Linguistic and Punjabi Lexicography, Punjabi University Patiala, a renowned expert in the field of Computer Science and artificial intelligence.

College principal, Dr. Neeraj Goyal in his welcome address, highlighted the significance of AI in today’s world especially in the fields of Defense services, Medical Sciences and Educational institutions. He emphasized that AI is transforming the landscape of education, literature, and research, and it is essential for students to understand its potential and limitations to harness its power effectively.

The speaker was formally introduced by Dr. Veerpal Kaur, Incharge and head of Punjabi Department. She told that Dr. Kamboj has authored thirty books about computers and their implications in various fields and he is the first to write a comprehensive book on Computer Science in Punjabi language. He is an expert in the field of development and design of Computer technology in Punjabi language.

Dr. Kamboj’s comprehensive presentation highlighted the thematic and conceptual foundations of AI, its applications and implications in various fields, including education, literature, and research. He emphasized the need for students to understand the potential and limitations of AI and to harness its power to create a more informed, innovative, and inclusive society.

Dr. Kamboj’s discussion also focused on the technical challenges and implications of AI in book publication and marketing strategies. He provided insights into the latest trends and technologies in AI-powered publishing and highlighted the opportunities and challenges associated with AI-driven content creation and dissemination.

The stage was conducted by Dr. Parminder Singh, Assistant professor, Post Graduate Department of Punjabi, who ensured smooth proceedings.

The lecture was attended by all faculty members, including Dr. Devinder Singh, Dr. Deepak Kumar, Dr. Jaspreet Kaur, Dr. Gurjant Singh, Prof. Kulwinder Singh, Prof. Gurwinder Singh, Prof. Talwinder Singh, Prof. Rupinder Kaur, and Prof. Soni Singh, among others.

The literary societies of the college, ‘Arcadia’, Department of English and ‘Punjabi Sahit Sabha’, Department of Punjabi in collaboration with Bhasha Vibhag, Patiala, Publication Bureau, Punjabi University, Patiala and different publishers organized a book exhibition in the college campus to mark the Modi Jayanti Week. The book exhibition was formally inaugurated by college Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal.

Dr. Vaneet Kaur, head of Department of English and Dr. Veerpal Kaur, Head of Department of Punjabi told that this book exhibition will certainly promote the culture of reading texts among the students in our age of technological innovations. In the book exhibition thousands of books on different subjects and genres were exhibited in English, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu languages A large number of students and staff visited the exhibition and purchased the books. A student Jai Deep Singh said that I was planning to purchase few novels of Charles Dickens and this exhibition provided me a opportunity. Another student Manpreet Kaur purchased two important books on history and culture of Punjab.

ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਮੋਦੀ ਜਯੰਤੀ ਹਫ਼ਤੇ ਦੇ ਜਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਵਜੋਂ “ਆਰਟੀਫੀਸ਼ੀਅਲ ਇੰਟੈਲੀਜੈਂਸ ਦੇ ਯੁੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ, ਸਾਹਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਖੋਜ” ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ‘ਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਿਤ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨੀ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਹ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਪੋਸਟ-ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ, ਸਾਹਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਖੋਜ ‘ਤੇ ਏਆਈ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੜਚੋਲ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਡਾ. ਸੀ.ਪੀ ਕੰਬੋਜ, ਸਹਾਇਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ, ਭਾਸ਼ਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਰਟੀਫੀਸ਼ੀਅਲ ਇੰਟੈਲੀਜੈਂਸ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਮਾਹਰ, ਵੱਲੋਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ।

ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਵਾਗਤੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਜ ਦੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਖਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ, ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਰਟੀਫੀਸ਼ੀਅਲ ਇੰਟੈਲੀਜੈਂਸ ੀ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ‘ਤੇ ਚਾਨਣਾ ਪਾਇਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਆਰਟੀਫੀਸ਼ੀਅਲ ਇੰਟੈਲੀਜੈਂਸ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ, ਸਾਹਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਖੋਜ ਦੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਇਸਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਵਰਤਣ ਲਈ ਇਸਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੀਮਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣਾ ਬੇਹੱਦ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ।

ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਬੁਲਾਰੇ ਦੀ ਰਸਮੀ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਡਾ. ਵੀਰਪਾਲ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਕਰਵਾਈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਡਾ. ਕੰਬੋਜ ਨੇ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਅਤੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਬਾਰੇ ਤੀਹ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਲਿਖੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ‘ਤੇ ਵਿਸਥਾਰਤ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਲਿਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਤਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਡਿਜ਼ਾਈਨ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਹਿਰ ਹਨ।

ਡਾ. ਕੰਬੋਜ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਰਟੀਫੀਸ਼ੀਅਲ ਇੰਟੈਲੀਜੈਂਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਥੀਮੈਟਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਕਲਪਿਕ ਬੁਨਿਆਦਾਂ, ਇਸਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਉਪਯੋਗਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ, ਸਾਹਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਖੋਜ ਸਮੇਤ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਜਾਗਰ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਰਟੀਫੀਸ਼ੀਅਲ ਇੰਟੈਲੀਜੈਂਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾਵਾਂ, ਗੁੰਝਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੀਮਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤਾਂ ਮੁਤਾਵਿਕ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਾ ਲਈ ਇਸਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ‘ਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

ਡਾ. ਕੰਬੋਜ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਰਕੀਟਿੰਗ ਰਣਨੀਤੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਰਟੀਫੀਸ਼ੀਅਲ ਇੰਟੈਲੀਜੈਂਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਚੁਣੌਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ।ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਰਟੀਫੀਸ਼ੀਅਲ ਇੰਟੈਲੀਜੈਂਸ -ਸੰਚਾਲਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਵੀਨਤਮ ਰੁਝਾਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਤਕਨਾਲੋਜੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਰਟੀਫੀਸ਼ੀਅਲ ਇੰਟੈਲੀਜੈਂਸ -ਸੰਚਾਲਿਤ ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਸਿਰਜਣ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਮੌਕਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਚੁਣੌਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਜਾਗਰ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਮੰਚ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਡਾ. ਪਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਸਹਾਇਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ, ਪੋਸਟ ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਚਾਰੂ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਚਲਾਇਆ।

ਇਸ ਲੈਕਚਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਏ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ. ਦਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡਾ. ਦੀਪਕ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਡਾ. ਜਸਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ, ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਜੰਟ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਕੁਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਗੁਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਤਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਰੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸੋਨੀ ਸਿੰਘ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ।

ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਮੋਦੀ ਜੈਅੰਤੀ ਦੇ ਸੰਦਰਭ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਸਭਾਵਾਂ, ‘ਆਰਕੇਡੀਆ’, ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਅਤੇ ‘ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਸਭਾ’, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ, ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਨ ਬਿਊਰੋ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਜਯੰਤੀ ਹਫ਼ਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕਾਲਜ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨੀ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪੁਸਤਕ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨੀ ਦਾ ਰਸਮੀ ਉਦਘਾਟਨ ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ। ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੀ ਮੁਖੀ ਡਾ. ਵਨੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੀ ਮੁਖੀ ਡਾ. ਵੀਰਪਾਲ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਤਕਨੀਕ ਦੇ ਯੁੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੁਸਤਕਸ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਦੇ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰੇਗੀ।ਇਸ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੈਲੀਆਂ ‘ਤੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ, ਹਿੰਦੀ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਰਦੂ ਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਿਤ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਸਨ। ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨੀ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਖਰੀਦੀਆਂ। ਬੀ.ਏ. ਭਾਗ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਜੈ ਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਚਾਰਲਸ ਡਿਕਨਜ਼ ਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਨਾਵਲ ਖਰੀਦਣ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਬਣਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨੀ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਮੌਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ, ਬੀ.ਏ.ਭਾਗ ਦੂਜਾ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ‘ਤੇ ਦੋ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਖਰੀਦੀਆਂ।
