Multani Mal Modi College celebrates 78th Republic Day with a Symphony of Patriotism

Multani Mal Modi College observed the 78th Republic Day of India with profound reverence and exuberance, collaborating with the 5 Pb BN, Patiala, 4 Pb BN Patiala and 3 Pb Air Sqn, Patiala to mark this significant occasion. The celebration commenced with the college principal, Dr. Neeraj Goyal, ceremoniously unfurling the national flag, thereby paying homage to the valiant martyrs who dedicated their lives to the nation’s freedom struggle. In his address, Dr. Goyal underscored the imperative for students to commit themselves to the ideals of national development, peace, and communal harmony.
A meticulously executed guard of honour was presented during the march past, conducted by the cadets from the Army and Air wings, exemplifying discipline and patriotism. The esteemed assembly included the NCC Officers (ANOs): Lt. Dr. Rohit Sachdeva from 5 Pb Bn, Lt. Dr. Nidhi Gupta from 4 Pb Bn, and Flying Officer Dr. Sumeet Kumar from 3 Pb Air Sqn, alongside notable faculty members, Dr. Varun Jain, Dr. Nishan Singh and other non-teaching staff, all of whom contributed to the celebration of the occasion.
After the parade, various cultural events were presented. These included energetic Bhangra, a speech, a solo song, a group song, and a beautiful instrumental performance of Dilruba accompanied by Tabla performance. These performances added colour and enthusiasm to the celebration and were enjoyed by everyone present. A good number of students took part in the event. 31 students from 10 Pb, 27 students from 5 Pb, and 30 students from 3 Pb actively participated and contributed to the success of the function. Despite the pervasive cold spell that blanketed the morning, the determination and spirit of the cadets illuminated the event.
The formal proceedings concluded with the rendition of the NCC song and the national anthem, resonantly performed by the cadets. As an expression of gratitude for the cadets’ dedication during the chilly morning, Dr. Goyal hosted a breakfast, fostering camaraderie among all participants. The event resonated with patriotic tone concluding with spirited war cries of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram,” which echoed throughout the college campus, embodying the collective zeal of the community. Every logistical aspect of the celebration was overseen with diligence by the college ANO under the judicious leadership of the Principal, ensuring a memorable and impactful observance of this revered national day.
