An Ode to Spring: Malhaar by Social Sciences Department concludes at Modi College

In a splendid tapestry woven with threads of creativity and intellectual vigor, the Department of Social Sciences, Multani Mal Modi College preceeds for the conclusion of its illustrious program ‘Malhaar’ today. This three-day celebration, a tribute to the enchanting season of Indian spring, unfurled before the eyes of eager participants a plethora of captivating activities, spirited games, and innovative pedagogical methodologies, all designed to engage the mind and inspire the soul. The event was sponsored by Vardhman: Career place, an organization preparing students for competitive exams and future careers. Dr. Rajdeep Singh, chairman of Play Ways senior Secondary School, Patiala was the chief guest at the concluding function.

Dr. Neeraj Goyal, the Principal of the college, inaugurated the festival with the sacred lighting of the lamp of wisdom. In his stirring address, he extolled the virtues of Malhaar as a bastion for showcasing the boundless potential and creative talents of the student body.

The Chief Guest Dr, Rajdeep Singh appreciated the creativity, the talent and the team spirit of the students and faculty members of Modi college. He said that not only the cultural performances were electrifying but the enthusiasm was also remarkable.

On the inaugural day the Department of Social Sciences orchestrated a set of illuminating tests and engaging IQ games, designed to not only measure cognitive capacities but also to provide psychological counseling, thus fostering a supportive environment for all participants.

The Social Sciences Department curated a photography contest that beckoned students to explore the intricate tapestry of ‘Society, Culture, and working Conditions

Concurrently, the Poster Making competition revealed an artistic whirlwind, as students skillfully expressed their political viewpoints through striking caricatures and poignant visual commentary on contemporary societal issues.

First position in the Poster Making was won by Prabjot Kaur and the second position was shared among Ramanjot Kaur, Nupur Thakur and Manpreet Kaur

Harman Singh and Harinder Singh stood first in Selfie competition and the second position bagged by Jyonita and Govind Singh.

In the Photography competition the first position was won by Anoushka while Ekampreet Kaur and Gaurav Sharma begged the second position.

First position in the kite flying won by team of Bhupinder Sing, Jai deep Dhillon and Bharat and the second position was bagged by Dishant, Suraj and Mohd Owais.

The Judges for Poster making competition were Dr. Deepika Singla and Dr. Veenu Jain. Dr. Sukhdev Singh was Judge for Photography Competition. For the event of kite flying the judges were Dr. Rajeev Sharma and Dr. Rohit.

On the third day, Malhaar transcended the conventional boundaries of academic festivity, emerging as a vibrant confluence of learning, artistic expression, and emotional resonance. The kite flying, Selfie competition and fun games fostered a sense of joy and excitement as the sky was ablaze with multi-coloured kites and happy faces of the students. The mesmerizing performances of songs, dances and poetry reflected the rich cultural traditions and folk lore of Punjab.

The chief guest and principal distributed the certificates and prizes to the winners.

The vote of thanks was presented by Vice Principal Prof. Jasbir Kaur.

ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਸਾਇੰਸਜ਼ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਬਸੰਤ ਰੁੱਤ ਦੇ ਖ਼ੂਬਸੂਰਤ ਰੰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਤਿੰਨ ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ‘ਮਲਹਾਰ’ ਉਤਸਵ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ।ਇਸ ਉਤਸਵ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਬੌਧਿਕ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਭਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਰਜਨਾਤਮਕ ਰੁਚੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਫੁੱਲਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵੱਖੋ-ਵੱਖਰੇ ਪਲੇਟਫ਼ਾਰਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਾ ਸੀ।ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਬਹੁ-ਪੱਧਰੀ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੋਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਅਧਾਰਿਤ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਦੇ ਵਿਲੱਖਣ ਢੰਗ-ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ। ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚ-ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਰੋਜ਼ਗਾਰ ਲਈ ਟਰੇਨਿੰਗ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਵਰਧਮਾਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਪਾਂਸਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੱਖ-ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਡਾ. ਰਾਜਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ, ਚੇਅਰਮੈਨ, ਪਲੇਅ ਵੇਅ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਸੈਕੰਡਰੀ ਸਕੂਲ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ।

ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਰਸਮੀ ਉਦਘਾਟਨ ਕਰਦਿਆ ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ.ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਸਾਇੰਸਿਜ਼ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਬੌਧਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੋਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਅਹਿਮ ਰੋਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੱਖ-ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਡਾ. ਰਾਜਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਤਿਆਰ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸਤੁਤ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਅਤੇ ਵਿੱਦਿਅਕ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ।ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਭਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਰਜਨਾਤਮਕ ਰੁਚੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹਨ।

ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਦਿਨ ਮਨੋਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਟੈੱਸਟਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ 150 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿਪਰੈਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਣ ਲਈ ਮਨੋਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਟੈੱਸਟ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਉੱਥੇ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤਮੰਦ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੌਂਸਲਿੰਗ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ।ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਬੌਧਿਕ ਪੱਧਰ ਦਾ ਮੁਲਾਂਕਣ ਵੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ਾਇਦਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ।

ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਦਿਨ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਫ਼ੋਟੋਗਰਾਫੀ ਅਤੇ ਪੋਸਟਰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਬੇਹੱਦ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ-ਪੂਰਵਕ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ।ਫ਼ੋਟੋਗਰਾਫੀ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਥੀਮ ‘ਸਮਾਜ, ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਦੇ ਹਾਲਾਤ’ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮਿਹਨਤਕਸ਼ ਵਰਗ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ-ਕਾਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਥਿਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਫ਼ੋਟੋਆਂ ਖਿੱਚੀਆਂ।ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੋਸਟਰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਗਲੋਬਲ ਸਿਆਸਤ ਤੋਂ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਸਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਸਮੀਕਰਨਾਂ, ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ, ਮੀਡੀਆ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਜ-ਸ਼ੈਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਦੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ-ਆਰਥਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਿਤ ਪੋਸਟਰ ਅਤੇ ਕੈਰੀ-ਕੇਚਰਜ਼ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੇ।

ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪੋਸਟਰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਭਜੋਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਰਮਨਜੋਤ ਕੌਰ, ਨੂਪਰ ਠਾਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਹਰਮਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਹਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਸੈਲਫੀ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਦ ਕਿ ਜੋਨਿਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੂਜੀ ਪੁਜ਼ੀਸ਼ਨ ਤੇ ਰਹੇ।

ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਫ਼ੋਟੋਗਰਾਫੀ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿਚ ਅਨੁਸ਼ਕਾ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਰਹੀ ਜਦਕਿ ਏਕਮਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਗੌਰਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ।

ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਪਤੰਗ ਉਡਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਭੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਜੈ ਦੀਪ ਢਿੱਲੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਭਰਤ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਦਕਿ ਦਿਸ਼ਾਂਤ, ਸੂਰਜ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਉਵੀਸ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਦੂਜੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਰਹੀ।

ਇਹਨਾਂ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਜੱਜਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਡਾ.ਦੀਪਿਕਾ ਸਿੰਗਲਾ, ਡਾ.ਵੀਨੂ ਜੈਨ, ਡਾ.ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡਾ.ਰਾਜੀਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਰੋਹਿਤ ਨੇ ਨਿਭਾਈ।

ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਤੀਜੇ ਦਿਨ ਪਤੰਗ ਉਡਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਲਫੀ ਖਿੱਚਣ ਦੇ ਖ਼ੂਬਸੂਰਤ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੱਧ-ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ।ਕਾਲਜ ਦਾ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਰੰਗ-ਬਿਰੰਗੇ ਪਤੰਗਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ੀ ਭਰੇ ਚਿਹਰਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਚਮਕ ਉੱਠਿਆ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਪਤੀ ਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਡਾ.ਹਬੀਬ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਅਧੀਨ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਪ੍ਰਸਤੁਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਅਮੀਰ ਵਿਰਸੇ ਲੋਕ-ਧਾਰਾ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਗੀਤਾਂ, ਨਾਚਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਵਿਤਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਦਿਲ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਿਆ।

ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਪਤੀ ਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ-ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਨਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਟੀਫਿਕੇਟ ਤਕਸੀਮ ਕੀਤੇ।

ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਤਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਵਾਈਸ-ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਪ੍ਰੋ.ਜਸਵੀਰ ਕੌਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
