Educational visit to PepsiCo India Holdings Private Limited, Channo, Punjab

The PG Department of Commerce, Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala organized an enriching educational visit to PepsiCo India Holdings Private Limited, Channo, Punjab on 24 January 2026 offering students an excellent opportunity to gain practical exposure to the food and beverage industry.
The educational visit was organized with the kind support of the College Principal, Dr. Neeraj Goyal, who consistently promotes industry-oriented learning among students. The visit was conducted under the supervision of the Head of the Department, Prof. Parminder Kaur and was carefully planned to ensure maximum academic benefit to the participants.
A total of 55 students of BCom 1st Year accompanied by faculty members Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, Prof. Paramjit Kaur, Prof. Diljit Kaur and Prof. Sachin participated in the industrial visit.
The students were guided through modern manufacturing facilities, where they observed the complete production process of popular products such as Lay’s chips, puff corn and other potato-based snacks. The extrusion process, a crucial stage in snack production, was demonstrated in detail, helping students understand how raw materials are transformed into finished products with specific shapes, textures and flavors.
The visit also highlighted the significance of advanced machinery, automation and quality control techniques used to maintain high production standards. Special emphasis was laid on packaging processes, explaining how proper packaging ensures freshness, safety and visual appeal of products in the market. Safety protocols and hygiene practices followed in the plant were also explained to the students.
Overall, the industrial visit proved to be highly informative and inspiring. It successfully bridged the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world industrial practices. The experience enhanced students’ understanding of production management and quality assurance, leaving them with valuable insights and practical knowledge for their academic and professional growth.
