One Day workshop on SMARTs Investor Awareness Program organised at Multani Mal Modi College Patiala

The P.G. Department of Commerce and Department of Business Management, Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala in collaboration with Security and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and National Center for Financial Education organised one-day workshop under the flagship programmes of ‘SMARTs Investor Awareness Program’. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Vishavdeep Sharma, SMARTs Training and Development Officer from the Haryana Institute of Rural Development (HIRD) and National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD). The objective of the workshop was to equip the students with the information about the financial planning and Investment markets.
Dr. Neeraj Goyal, Principal of the college welcomed the expert and said that Financial Planning, Investment and risk management are the fundamental aspects of financial security for an individual and organization. He advised the students to focus on rigorous theoretical and practical skills to learn the functioning of and investment markets and management of risk involved in share markets and financial planning.
Prof. Neena Sareen, Head and Dean, Department of Commerce said that Commerce and Business Management Department is committed for training of our students as future investment consultants and financial advisors. She said that such workshops help the students to think out of the box, develop their financial markets analytical skills and chalk out their future plans in Financial Management.
Mr. Vishavdeep Sharma in this workshop discussed with the students the fundamental concepts of financial planning and investment. He elaborated upon the functioning of Share markets and Stock exchange, the difference between Mutual funds and Systematic Investment Planning and explained the process of investing in a logical and economical way. He also explained in detail about trading of security, the determinants of rate of interest and how to minimize the risk during investments.
Prof. Parminder Kaur presented the vote of thanks. In this event Dr. Deepika Singla, Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, Dr. Gaurav Gupta, Prof. Sonia, Dr. Diksha, Prof. Manjot Kaur, Prof. Harsimran Kaur, Prof. Ravinder Kumar, Mr. Vivek Sindhi and other faculty members and large number of students were present.

ਪੋਸਟ ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਕਾਮਰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਜ਼ਨਸ ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਸਕਿਓਰਿਟੀ ਐਂਡ ਐਕਸਚੇਂਜ ਬੋਰਡ ਆਫ ਇੰਡੀਆ (ਸੇਬੀ) ਅਤੇ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਫਾਰ ਫਾਈਨੈਂਸ਼ੀਅਲ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ‘ਸਮਾਰਟ ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ਕ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ’ ਦੇ ਫਲੈਗਸ਼ਿਪ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਤਹਿਤ ਇੱਕ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਹ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਇੰਸਟੀਚਿਊਟ ਆਫ ਰੂਰਲ ਡਿਵੈਲਪਮੈਂਟ ਅਤੇ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਇੰਸਟੀਚਿਊਟ ਆਫ ਰੂਰਲ ਡਿਵੈਲਪਮੈਂਟ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਰਜਸ਼ੀਲ ਸਮਾਰਟ ਟ੍ਰੇਨਿੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਡਿਵੈਲਪਮੈਂਟ ਅਫਸਰ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਦੀਪ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਈ।ਇਸ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਯੋਜਨਾਬੰਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਲੈਸ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਮਾਹਿਰ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ, ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਜੋਖਮ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਹਰ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਬੁਨਿਆਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੂ ਹਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸ਼ੇਅਰ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਯੋਜਨਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਜ਼ੋਖਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਕਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਸਿਧਾਂਤਕ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਹਾਰਕ ਹੁਨਰਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਕੇਂਦਰਿਤ ਕਰਨ।
ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਨੀਨਾ ਸਰੀਨ, ਮੁਖੀ ਅਤੇ ਡੀਨ ਕਾਮਰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕਾਮਰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਦੇ ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ਕ ਸਲਾਹਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਸਲਾਹਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਯਤਨਸ਼ੀਲ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਵੀਨ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਮਝਣ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਲੇਸ਼ਣ ਦੇ ਹੁਨਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਸਤ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਭਵਿੱਖੀ ਯੋਜਨਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਦੀਪ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਯੋਜਨਾਬੰਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਬੁਨਿਆਦੀ ਸੰਕਲਪਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ੇਅਰ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਟਾਕ ਐਕਸਚੇਂਜ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਕਾਜ, ਮਿਉਚੁਅਲ ਫੰਡਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਸਟਮੈਟਿਕ ਇਨਵੈਸਟਮੈਂਟ ਪਲੈਨਿੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੰਤਰ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਤਰਕਪੂਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਖਮ ਰਹਿਤ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਦੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਵਪਾਰ, ਵਿਆਜ ਦਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਧਾਰਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਜ਼ੋਖਮ ਨੂੰ ਘੱਟ ਤੋਂ ਘੱਟ ਕਰਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਦੱਸਿਆ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਕਾਮਰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਪਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਤਾ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ. ਦੀਪਿਕਾ ਸਿੰਗਲਾ, ਡਾ. ਗਗਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ, ਡਾ. ਗੌਰਵ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸੋਨੀਆ, ਡਾ. ਦੀਕਸ਼ਾ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਮਨਜੋਤ ਕੌਰ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਹਰਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੌਰ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਵਿਵੇਕ ਸਿੰਧੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਅਤੇ ਵੱ ਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ।
