Punjab State Level 28th National Road Safety Week organized at M.M. Modi College Patiala.
M.M. Modi College Patiala, today organized a state level function jointly with Patiala District Police Department to celebrate 28th National Road Safety Week. State Transport Commissioner, Dr. Ashwani Kumar IAS, presided over the function. He emphasized the need of making the youth conscious of the relevance of following the traffic rules. He said that small amount of carelessness of driver can cause irreparable loss to the families and to the nation.
Deputy Commissioner Patiala, Shri Ramveer Singh IAS and SSP Patiala Shri S Bhupti IPS patronized the function.
Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar welcomed the guests and said that the role of youth in societal concerns cannot be over emphasized. He further said that to begin with, youth should be involved in making the people sensitized to follow rules of the road for making the journey safe and pleasant.
Dr. Amandeep Singh Bakshi, Mr. Atamjeet Singh Kahlon, Prof. Harmohan Sharma, Shri Bhupinder singh ADTO Patiala and SP (traffic) Patiala, Mr Balraj Singh spoke on the occasion.
A play, ‘Dukhdi Rag Punjab Di’, by Rajvinder Samrala and his Troupe, dealing with the social evil of drug abuse was presented on the occasion.
Students of Mount Litera Zee School presented a Nukkad Natak to make the people conscious of traffic rules and the students of Singh Sabha Khalsa School also presented a program related to road safety.
Medals were given to those children who helped the police in spreading the traffic awareness among the students.
Chief guest Dr. Ashwani Kumar and Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar honored the speakers, teachers and the employees of police department for their outstanding performance.
Vote of thanks was presented by SP (traffic) Shri Balraj Singh.

ਅੱਜ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਰਾਜ ਪੱਧਰੀ, 28ਵਾਂ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਸਪਤਾਹ ਮਨਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਹਿਤ ਰਾਜ ਪੱਧਰੀ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਸਟੇਟ ਟਰਾਂਸਪੋਰਟ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ, ਡਾ. ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਕੁਮਾਰ ੀਅਸ਼, ਨੇ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਗੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਨੌਜੁਆਨਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹਰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਧਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਟ੍ਰੈਫਿਕ ਨਿਯਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਯੋਗ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨੂੰ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਵਾਹਨ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਛੋਟੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਲਾਪਰਵਾਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਨਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਘਾਟਾ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮਵੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ, IAS ਅਤੇ SSP ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਐਸ. ਭੂਪਤੀ, IPS ਇਸ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਸਰਪ੍ਰਸਤ ਸਨ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਆਏ ਮਹਿਮਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਗਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਨੌਜੁਆਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਤੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੁਨਕਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਟ੍ਰੈਫਿਕ ਦੇ ਨਿਯਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਲਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਬਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਸਫਲ ਅਤੇ ਖੁਸ਼ਨੁਮਾ ਬਨਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਵਿਚ ਨੌਜੁਆਨ ਵਧ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ।
ਇਸ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਮੌਕੇ ਡਾ ਅਮਨਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਾਨ ਆਤਮਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਾਹਲੋਂ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਹਰਮੋਹਨ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਭੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਅਧਠੌ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਫ (ਟ੍ਰੈਫਿਕ) ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਬਲਰਾਜ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਸੜਕ ਦੁਰਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਨਿਯਮਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਕੀਤੇ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਰਾਜਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਮਰਾਲਾ ਦੀ ਨਾਟਕ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਿਤ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਚ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਨਾਟਕ ‘ਦੁਖਦੀ ਰਗ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ’ ਦੀ ਸਫਲ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਟ੍ਰੈਫਿਕ ਨਿਯਮਾਂ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਫੈਲਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਵਿਚ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦਾ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
Mount Litera Zee School ਦੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਨੁੱਕੜ ਨਾਟਕ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਭਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਸਕੂਲ ਦੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਸੜਕ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
ਮੁੱੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਡਾ. ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਬੁਲਾਰਿਆਂ, ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾਯੋਗ ਉੱਦਮਾਂ ਲਈ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
