Inauguration of the Newly-built Auditorium with play ‘Kambal’
On the occasion of inauguration of the newly-built auditorium of Multani Mal Modi College, Utsav Kala Manch staged a play titled ‘Kambal’ based on the eminent Hindi litterateur Munshi Prem Chand’s story ‘Poos Ki Raat’. It was organized in collaboration of Alumni Association of the College on the evening of 15th January, 2019. The principal extended a warm welcome to all the guests and artists present. Emphasizing the mutual relationship of Literature and society he said that it is the relevance of a work in all ages which makes it great and worth reading. He congratulated and appreciated the theatrical presentation by Utsav Kala Manch.
The play depicted the worsening economic condition of marginal farmers and highlighted the struggle of peasantry in procuring such basic necessities as blanket. The play inspires the farmers of present time to live life optimistically in the face of increasing number of suicide cases among farmers.
The direction and acting of Anoop Sharma and his team namely Sudamini Kapoor, Raghav and Shubham Sharma mesmerized the audience.
The Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar felicitated the director and his team. Management Member Prof. Surindra Lal, College Alumni Association Member Sh. K K Sharma, Chairman PRTC, Sh. K. K Malhotra, President, District Congress Committee, Punjabi thinker Dr. Deepak Manmohan Singh graced the occasion. Teaching, Non-Teaching faculty and students of the college were also present. Dr. Bharat Bhushan Singla, Punjabi University, Patiala an alumnus proposed a vote of thanks. The stage was conducted by Dr. Harmohan Sharma and Dr. Davinder Singh.

ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਖੇ ਆਡੀਟੋਰੀਅਮ ਦੇ ਉਦਘਾਟਨ ਮੌਕੇ ਨਾਟਕ ‘ਕੰਬਲ’ ਦਾ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਮੰਚਨ
ਅੱਜ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਉਸਾਰੇ ਆਡੀਟੋਰੀਅਮ ਦੇ ਉਦਘਾਟਨ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਉਤਸਵ ਕਲਾ ਮੰਚ, ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ’ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਸਾਹਿਤਕਾਰ ਮੁਨਸ਼ੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਚੰਦ ਦੀ ਕਹਾਣੀ ‘ਪੂਸ ਕੀ ਰਾਤ’ ‘ਤੇ ਆਧਾਰਿਤ ਨਾਟਕ ‘ਕੰਬਲ’ ਦੀ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ਨਾਟਕੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਅਲੂਮਨੀ ਐਸੋਸੀਏਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਰਿਹਾ। ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਹਿਮਾਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੇ ਪਰਸਪਰ ਸਬੰਧਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਹਰੇਕ ਯੁੱਗ ਵਿਚ ਕਲਾ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਗਿਕਤਾ ਹੀ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਨੂੰ ਮਹਾਨਤਾ ਦਾ ਦਰਜਾ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ‘ਉਤਸਵ ਕਲਾ ਮੰਚ’ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਨਾਟਕੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਰੰਗਮੰਚੀ ਮਾਧਿਅਮ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮੁਨਸ਼ੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਚੰਦ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਸਰੋਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਫ਼ਲਤਾ ਸਹਿਤ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਧਾਈ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
ਇਥੇ ਜ਼ਿਕਰਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਨਾਟਕੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਨਿਮਨ ਕਿਰਸਾਨੀ ਦੀ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਮੰਦਹਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੇ ਸਮਕਾਲੀ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਸੰਕਟ ਵਜੋਂ ਉਭਾਰਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਅੰਨਦਾਤਾ ਕਹੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੁੱਢਲੀਆਂ ਜਰੂਰਤਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਸਰਦੀ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਕੰਬਲ’ ਵਰਗੀ ਨਿਗੂਣੀ ਵਸਤੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਜਦੋ-ਜਹਿਦ ਕਰਨੀ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਕਿਸਾਨੀ ਖੁਦਕੁਸੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਦੌਰ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਨਾਟਕੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਖੁਦਕਸ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਬਜਾਏ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਉਣ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਜਗਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਇਸ ਰੰਗਮੰਚੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਤੇ ਕਲਾਕਾਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਅਨੂਪ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਿਹਤਰੀਨ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਨ ਤੇ ਜਾਨਦਾਰ ਅਭਿਨੈ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਦਰਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਬੰਨ੍ਹੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸੌਦਾਮਿਨੀ ਕਪੂਰ, ਰਾਘਵ ਤੇ ਸ਼ੁਭਮ ਸਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਭੂਮਿਕਾਵਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਭਿਨੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਟਕੀ ਸੰਚਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਖੂਬੀ ਸਿਖ਼ਰ ਉਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਇਆ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਾਟਕ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਟੀਮ ਦਾ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਅਵਸਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ, ਕਰਮਚਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਸਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਅਤਾਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਕਾਲਜ ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸੁਰਿੰਦਰਾ ਲਾਲ, ਕਾਲਜ ਅਲੂਮਨੀ ਐਸੋਸ਼ੀਏਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਕੇ.ਕੇ. ਸ਼ਰਮਾ (ਚੇਅਰਮੈਨ, ਪੀ.ਆਰ.ਟੀ.ਸੀ), ਸ਼੍ਰੀ. ਕੇ.ਕੇ. ਮਲਹੋਤਰਾ (ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ, ਜਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਕਾਗਰਸ ਕਮੇਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ), ਨਾਮਵਰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਚਿੰਤਕ ਡਾ. ਦੀਪਕ ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ। ਕਾਲਜ ਅਲੂਮਨੀ ਐਸੋਸ਼ੀਏਸ਼ਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਡਾ. ਭਾਰਤ ਭੂਸ਼ਨ ਸਿੰਗਲਾ (ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ) ਨੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਤਾ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਮੰਚ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਡਾ. ਹਰਮੋਹਨ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਦਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਬਾਖੂਬੀ ਨਿਭਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ।
