Punjabi Literary Meet Organised at Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala
The post-graduate department of Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala organized its monthly literary meet cum prize distribution function to engage the students with literature and books. College principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar while motivating the budding writers and artists of the college said that literature relates and reflects the each and every aspect of human life and it should not be seen in isolation. Literature provides a platform for interaction between different stream of ideas. Dr. Gurdeep Singh Sandhu, Head of Department, Punjabi while addressing the students discussed with them the relevance of participating in such literary discussion and inter-exchange of ideas. Such platform are crucial for shaping their creative and writing skills. The college students from each faculty and department, such as Samreet Kaur (B.A.-III), Arvinder Kaur (B.A.-III), Gurnoor Singh (B.A.-III), Prince (B.A.-II), Satnam Singh (MA-II), Joban Randhawa (B.A.-III), Harpinder Singh (B.A.-I) presented Ghazals, Songs, Poetry and other literary pieces.
On this occasion prizes and certificates were also distributed to the winners of National Level ‘Ethical Education Examination’ dedicated to 550th Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle. In this examination 102 students of Modi College participated. College student Harpreet Kaur (B.Sc.-I) got first position in the college and second from Patiala Zone by securing 94% marks. Neerja (B.A.-III) stood second, Dimple (B.Com.-II) bagged third position, Ramneek Kaur (B.Com.-II) stood fourth Samreet Kaur (B.A.-III) bagged fifth, Harsimran Kaur (BSc-III) 6th, Amandeep Kaur (B.Com.-II) Seventh, Parmanoor Kaur (BSc-III) 8th, Ramanpreet Kaur (BCom-II) Ninth and Manpreet Kaur (BCom-III) and Damanpreet Kaur (BCom-II) bagged 10th position respectively. 70 students got pass certificates for this examination. The highest number of participants was from M M Modi College in Patiala Zone. The stage was conducted by Dr. Davinder Singh. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Manjeet Kaur. Large number of students and all faculty members were present on this occasion.

ਅੱਜ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪੋਸਟ-ਗ੍ਰੈਜ਼ੂਏਟ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਸਭਾ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਚੇਤਨਾ ਦੀ ਚਿਣਗ ਲਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਤਹਿਤ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਮਾਸਿਕ ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਗੋਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਸਮੇਤ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਕਲਾ ਵਿਚ ਰੁਚੀ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਭਾ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ ਬਿਖੇਰੇ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਰੂਪਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਾਹਿਤਕਾਰਾਂ-ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਬਾਰਕਬਾਦ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਖਾਸ ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਜਾਂ ਖੇਤਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਿਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਮਨੱਖੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਸਮੁੱਚ ਨੂੰ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਨਾ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਇਕ ਖਾਸ ਪੱਖ ਨੂੰ।ਸਾਹਿਤ ਕੇਵਲ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਵਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸਗੋਂ ਸਮਾਜ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਹਤਮੰਦ ਸੰਵਾਦ ਲਈ ਢੁਕਵਾਂ ਆਧਾਰ ਵੀ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪੋਸਟ-ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿਚ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਗਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਸੁਚਾਰੂ ਕਾਰਜ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਇਕ ਵਾਰੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਨਾ ਆਸਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਥੇ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਤਾ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਡਾਢੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਠਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰੰਤੂ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਰੰਤਰ ਮਾਸਿਕ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਸਭਾ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਈ ਢੁਕਵਾਂ ਮੰਚ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਸਮਝ ਵਧਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਅਤ ਵਿਚ ਨਿਖਾਰ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਗੀਤ ਗਜ਼ਲ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਸਿਰਜਨਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਮਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ (ਬੀ.ਏ. ਭਾਗ ਤੀਜਾ), ਅਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ (ਬੀ.ਏ. ਭਾਗ ਤੀਜਾ), ਗੁਰਨੂਰ ਸਿੰਘ (ਬੀ.ਏ. ਭਾਗ ਦੂਜਾ), ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸ (ਬੀ.ਏ. ਭਾਗ ਦੂਜਾ), ਸਤਨਾਮ ਸਿੰਘ (ਐਮ.ਏ. ਭਾਗ ਦੂਜਾ), ਜੋਵਨ ਰੰਧਾਵਾ (ਬੀ.ਏ. ਭਾਗ ਪਹਿਲਾ), ਹਰਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ (ਬੀ.ਏ. ਭਾਗ ਪਹਿਲਾ) ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮਾਂ ਬੋਲੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਫਿਕਰਮੰਦੀ ਸੀ ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਸਮਕਾਲੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ, ਸਮਾਜਕ, ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਸੰਕਟਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਉੱਤਰ ਸਿਰਜਨ ਦੀ ਗੂੰਜ ਵੀ ਸੁਣਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੇ 550 ਸਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਉਤਸਵ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਮਾਗਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਲੜੀ ਤਹਿਤ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਦਿਨੀਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਟੱਡੀ ਸਰਕਲ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਪੱਧਰ ਦਾ ‘ਨੈਤਿਕ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਇਮਤਿਹਾਨ’ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਅੱਜ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਉਕਤ ਇਮਤਿਹਾਨ ਦੇ ਜੇਤੂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਨਾਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਸ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਟਰੀਫਿਕੇਟਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਇਮਤਿਹਾਨ ਵਿਚ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਦੇ 102 ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣ ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ (ਬੀ.ਐਸ.ਸੀ. ਭਾਗ ਪਹਿਲਾ) ਨੇ 94% ਅੰਕ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਜ਼ੋਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਦੂਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੀਰਜ਼ਾ (ਬੀ.ਏ. ਭਾਗ ਤੀਜਾ) ਨੇ ਦੂਜਾ, ਡਿੰਪਲ (ਬੀ.ਕਾਮ. ਭਾਗ ਦੂਜਾ) ਨੇ ਤੀਜਾ, ਰਮਣੀਕ ਕੌਰ (ਬੀ.ਕਾਮ. ਭਾਗ ਦੂਜਾ) ਨੇ ਚੌਥਾ, ਸਮਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ (ਬੀ.ਏ. ਭਾਗ ਤੀਜਾ) ਨੇ ਪੰਜਵਾਂ, ਹਰਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੌਰ (ਬੀ.ਐਸ.ਸੀ. ਭਾਗ ਤੀਜਾ) ਨੇ ਛੇਵਾਂ, ਅਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ (ਬੀ.ਕਾਮ. ਭਾਗ ਦੂਜਾ) ਨੇ ਸੱਤਵਾਂ, ਪਰਮਨੂਰ ਕੌਰ (ਬੀ.ਐਸ.ਸੀ. ਭਾਗ ਤੀਜਾ) ਨੇ ਅੱਠਵਾਂ, ਰਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ (ਬੀ.ਕਾਮ. ਭਾਗ ਦੂਜਾ) ਨੇ ਨੌਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ (ਬੀ.ਕਾਮ. ਭਾਗ ਤੀਜਾ) ਤੇ ਦਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ (ਬੀ.ਕਾਮ. ਭਾਗ ਦੂਜਾ) ਨੇ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਦਸਵਾਂ ਸਥਾਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਇਹ ਇਮਤਿਹਾਨ ਪਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ 70 ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਟੀਫਿਕੇਟ ਤਕਸੀਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ। ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਪੱਧਰ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਇਮਤਿਹਾਨ ਦੇ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਜ਼ੋਨ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਸੀ।
ਸਟੇਜ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਜ ਡਾ. ਦਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਬਾਖੂਬੀ ਨਿਭਾਇਆ। ਡਾ. ਮਨਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਤਾ ਪਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਸਟਾਫ ਸਮੇਤ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਸਹਿਬਾਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ।
