Multani Mal Modi College Conducts Orientation Programme for New Academic Session 26-27

Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala, successfully organized a structured, two-day Orientation Programme for its newly admitted entry-level undergraduate students across all faculties. Organised on July 23 and July 24, 2026, the comprehensive initiative aimed to acquaint freshers with the institution’s academic framework, administrative protocols, campus infrastructure, and student support systems.

In his welcome address, college principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal said that “Our primary objective through this orientation is to provide entry-level students with a seamless transition into higher education. By exposing them to our academic standards, support networks, and value-added opportunities right at the outset, we aim to cultivate an environment that fosters intellectual rigor, ethical discipline, and holistic personal growth throughout their tenure at Modi College.”

On the inaugural day of the Orientation catered specifically to students enrolled in the Commerce, Management, and Basic Sciences streams. Orientation modules for B.Com. Part-I were conducted under the leadership of head of Commerce Department, Prof. Parminder Kaur, Dr. Deepika Singla, and Dr. Gagandeep Kaur. Concurrently, sessions for BBA Part-I and B.Sc. (Non-Medical, Computer Science, Mathematics, and CSM) Part-I were hosted in the College Auditorium, led by Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Dr. Rohit Sachdeva, and Dr. Varun Jain.

On the second day, students from the Humanities, Computer Applications, Vocational, and Life Sciences disciplines (B.A. Part-I) participated in orientation proceedings. The sessions were conducted by Prof. Jagdeep Kaur, Dr. Veerpal Kaur, and Dr. Vaneet Kaur. Meanwhile, students of BCA, B.Voc. (Software Development), and B.Sc. (Medical, Biotechnology, and Fashion Design) Part-I convened in the Auditorium under the supervision of Prof. Vinay Garg, Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, and Dr. Veenu Jain.

To ensure exhaustive coverage of administrative and academic aspects, the programme was structured into three thematic modules across both days. Session one opened with administrative addresses, followed by insights into Add-on Courses, Certificate Programmes, Placement Cell operations, and the Finishing School Programme delivered by (Lt) Dr. Rohit Sachdeva, alongside guidelines on the annual academic calendar, unit planning, and mandatory attendance mandates presented by Dr. Kuldeep Kumar. Session two focused on institutional welfare mechanisms, featuring briefings on the Women Cell and timetable management by Prof. Jagdeep Kaur, anti-ragging compliance by Dr. Ajit Kumar, government scholarship schemes for reserved categories by Dr. Ganesh Kumar, and co-curricular/NSS/Buddy Program initiatives presented by Dr. Harmohan Sharma and Dr. Sanjeev Kumar.

Session three concluded the orientation by introducing the college’s digital ecosystem and extracurricular avenues. Prof. Vinay Garg detailed the Student Information System and Learning Management System (LMS), while Dr. Sukhdev Singh, Dr. (Lt.) Sumeet Kumar, Dr. Nishan Singh, and Dr. Rupinder Singh presented the scope of institutional clubs, NCC training, sports infrastructure, and Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG) activities, respectively. With the orientation successfully concluded, regular academic operations for the 2026–27 session will officially commence on July 27, 2026.

ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਵੇਂ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੋਏ ਅੰਡਰ-ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਵਿਿਦਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਦੋ-ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਓਰੀਐਂਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਸਫਲਤਾਪੂਰਵਕ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।ਇਸ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਿਦਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਢਾਂਚੇ, ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਟੋਕੋਲ, ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਬੁਨਿਆਦੀ ਢਾਂਚੇ, ਅਤੇ ਵਿਿਦਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਉਪਲਬਧ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੇਂਦਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਿਦਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੂਬਰੂ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਾ ਸੀ।

ਆਪਣੇ ਸਵਾਗਤੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ “ਇਸ ਅਹਿਮ ਵਿਚਾਰ-ਵਟਾਂਦਰੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਾਡਾ ਮੁੱਢਲਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਪੱਧਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਿਦਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚ-ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਜ-ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਮਿਆਰਾਂ, ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਜ-ਸ਼ੈਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਕੋਰਸਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾ ਕੇ, ਅਸੀਂ ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੌਧਿਕਤਾ, ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਮਿਆਰੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦੱਦ ਕਰੇ।”

ਓਰੀਐਂਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਉਦਘਾਟਨੀ ਦਿਨ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਕਾਮਰਸ, ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ, ਅਤੇ ਬੇਸਿਕ ਸਾਇੰਸਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲਾ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਿਦਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਬੀ.ਕਾਮ ਲਈ ਓਰੀਐਂਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਮੈਡਿਊਲ ਭਾਗ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਕਾਮਰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਪ੍ਰੋ: ਪਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ, ਡਾ: ਦੀਪਿਕਾ ਸਿੰਗਲਾ, ਡਾ: ਗਗਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ । ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਬੀਬੀਏ ਭਾਗ-1 ਅਤੇ ਬੀ.ਐਸ.ਸੀ. ਲਈ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ. (ਨਾਨ-ਮੈਡੀਕਲ, ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ, ਗਣਿਤ, ਅਤੇ ਸੀ.ਐਸ.ਐਮ.) ਭਾਗ-ਪਹਿਲਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਸ਼ੈਸ਼ਨ ਡਾ: ਸੰਜੇ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਡਾ: ਰੋਹਿਤ ਸਚਦੇਵਾ, ਅਤੇ ਡਾ: ਵਰੁਣ ਜੈਨ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।

ਦੂਜੇ ਦਿਨ ਸ਼ੋਸ਼ਲ਼ ਸ਼ਾਇੰਸ਼ਿਜ਼ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਐਪਲੀਕੇਸ਼ਨਜ਼, ਵੋਕੇਸ਼ਨਲ, ਅਤੇ ਲਾਈਫ ਸਾਇੰਸਜ਼ ਦੇ ਵਿਿਦਆਰਥੀਆਂ (ਬੀ.ਏ. ਭਾਗ-1) ਨੇ ਓਰੀਐਂਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ। ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਪ੍ਰੋ: ਜਗਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ, ਡਾ: ਵੀਰਪਾਲ ਕੌਰ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ: ਵਨੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵਿਿਦਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਬੀ.ਸੀ.ਏ., ਬੀ.ਵੋਕਕੇਸ਼ਨ (ਸਾਫਟਵੇਅਰ ਡਿਵੈਲਪਮੈਂਟ), ਅਤੇ ਬੀ.ਐਸ.ਸੀ. (ਮੈਡੀਕਲ, ਬਾਇਓਟੈਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਫੈਸ਼ਨ ਡਿਜ਼ਾਈਨ) ਭਾਗ-1 ਦੇ ਸ਼ੈਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਪ੍ਰੋ: ਵਿਨੈ ਗਰਗ, ਡਾ: ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ: ਵੀਨੂੰ ਦੀ ਦੇਖ-ਰੇਖ ਹੇਠ ਆਡੀਟੋਰੀਅਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।

ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਪਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ, ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਤਿੰਨ ਥੀਮੈਟਿਕ ਮਾਡਿਊਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿਜ਼ਾਈਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।ਇਸ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸ਼ੈਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਐਡ-ਆਨ ਕੋਰਸਾਂ, ਸਰਟੀਫਿਕੇਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਾਂ, ਪਲੇਸਮੈਂਟ ਸੈੱਲ, ਇੰਨਰਟਸ਼ਿੱਪ ਬਾਰੇ (ਲੈਫਟੀਨੈਂਟ) ਡਾ. ਰੋਹਿਤ ਸਚਦੇਵਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸਾਲਾਨਾ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਕੈਲੰਡਰ, ਯੂਨਿਟ ਯੋਜਨਾਬੰਦੀ, ਅਤੇ ਲਾਜ਼ਮੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਡਾ. ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਦੂਜੇ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਵੂਮੈਨ ਸੈੱਲ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਂ ਸਾਰਣੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ: ਜਗਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਡਾ. ਅਜੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਐਂਟੀ-ਰੈਗਿੰਗ ਸੈੱਲ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਰਾਖਵੀਆਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਸਕਾਲਰਸ਼ਿਪ ਸਕੀਮਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਹਿ-ਪਾਠਕ੍ਰਮ/ਅੇਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ/ਬਡੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਬਾਰੇ ਕ੍ਰਮਵਾਰ ਡਾ.ਹਰਮੋਹਣ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ:ਸੰਜੀਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਗਿਆ।

ਤੀਜੇ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਡਿਜੀਟਲ ਈਕ-ੋਸਿਸਟਮ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਠਕ੍ਰਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਕਲੱਬਾਂ ਤੇ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ। ਪ੍ਰੋ: ਵਿਨੈ ਗਰਗ ਨੇ ਸਟੂਡੈਂਟ ਇਨਫਰਮੇਸ਼ਨ ਸਿਸਟਮ ਐਂਡ ਲਰਨਿੰਗ ਮੈਨੇਜਮੈਂਟ ਸਿਸਟਮ (ਐਲਐਮਐਸ) ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਸਥਾਰਪੂਰਵਕ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਡਾ: ਸੁਖਦੇਵ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡਾ.
