        Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala is synonymous with academic excellence. This college is a multi-faculty, co-educational Post-Graduate institution established by Padam Bhushan Rai Bahadur Seth Gujjar Mal Modi, in the cherished memory of his illustrious father, Rai Bahadur Seth Multani Mal Modi in September, 1966. The magnanimous and enlightened Managing Committee of the college is headed by its visionary Chairman Seth Sudarshan Kumar Modi. The College offers 12 UG courses in Commerce, Humanities, Science, Computer Science, Business Management, 9 PG courses, 1 PG Diploma course for more than 4000 students. UGC sponsored Add-on courses in Spoken English for Communication Skills, Journalism and Mass Communication, and Computerized Accounting and 8 Skill based Certificate courses are also offered. Besides these courses, Finishing School Programme, an exclusively in-house-developed course that aims to enhance the employability quotient of the out-going students, is being run. The facilities for Advanced Learning and Research are also available.

        The College has been placed among the best Commerce institutions of northern region and under regional scan institutions for Arts and Science by The Tribune in its survey ‘Guide to Best Colleges’ (28.04.2023).

        The old students of the college – Modiites – occupy positions of eminence in all walks of life. The college has a modern building having 62 class rooms, 1 Seminar Hall, 1 Auditorium, 7 Computer Labs, 14 Science Labs, 2 Research Labs, 1 Digital Language Lab, and a Central Instrumentation Lab. The Computerized Library houses more than 65,000 books including some rare books and N-LIST. There is an ultra-modern Indoor Gymnasium, Lawn Tennis Academy and Cricket Academy on the campus. 32 research scholars are pursuing research work for Ph.D. under the competent supervision of our faculty. Our students have secured 52 merit positions including 3 Gold Medals and 4 first positions as per the latest merit list declared by Punjabi University, Patiala. Besides making a mark in NSS, NCC, Bharat Scouts and Guides activities, the college has significant achievements in cultural activities at the National Level.

            Our sportspersons have bagged 30 University Championships and won runners-up positions in 19 competitions. They have also made remarkable accomplishments in 4 International and 243 National events. The college has a rich tradition of organizing Conferences / Seminars / Workshops / Science Fairs / Exhibitions / Festivals / Extension Lectures / Tournaments and Educational Tours for the overall development of the students’ personality.
