MULTANI MAL MODI COLLEGE WON PRIZE AT INTER-COLLEGE FASHION SHOW ‘NAVYA KRITI’

The Department of Fashion Designing at Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala, won the third prize at the inter-college fashion show ‘Navya Kriti,’ held at the CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur Campus, Jalandhar. A thirty eight members team of student designers, models, and backstage crew presented a collection titled “Royal Reborn,” which featured contemporary silhouettes crafted from traditional Indian brocade. In addition to the team award, first-year B.Sc. Fashion Designing student Sarvpreet Kaur was named ‘Best Model’ for her presentation on the ramp.
College Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal congratulated the participants and faculty, emphasizing the institutional value of experiential events. “Participating in competitive inter-college platforms provides students with essential industry exposure, builds professional confidence, and allows them to demonstrate creative execution on a public stage,” Dr. Goyal stated, praising the team’s collective preparation and effort.
Dr. Veenu Jain, Head of the Department of Fashion Designing, commended the student team and highlighted the educational impact of live showcases. “Events like ‘Navya Kriti’ offer critical hands-on learning, allowing students to translate theoretical concepts into finished garments while managing the collaborative dynamics of the fashion industry,” Dr. Jain noted, adding that adapting traditional fabrics to modern sensibilities helps preserve national textile heritage.
The event, centered on the broader theme “Virasat: Threads of Royalty,” required participants to handle all operational phases, including concept development, garment construction, styling, and backstage coordination. ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਫੈਸ਼ਨ ਡਿਜ਼ਾਈਨਿੰਗ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਸੀ.ਟੀ. ਗਰੁੱਪ ਆਫ਼ ਇੰਸਟੀਚਿਊਸ਼ਨਜ਼, ਸ਼ਾਹਪੁਰ ਕੈਂਪਸ, ਜਲੰਧਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਅੰਤਰ-ਕਾਲਜ ਫੈਸ਼ਨ ਸ਼ੋਅ ‘ਨਵਿਆ ਕ੍ਰਿਤੀ’ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੀਜਾ ਇਨਾਮ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ। ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਡਿਜ਼ਾਈਨਰਾਂ, ਮਾਡਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਕਸਟੇਜ ਕਰੂ ਦੀ 38 ਮੈਂਬਰੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ‘ਰੋਇਲ ਰੀਬੋਰਨ’ ਨਾਮਕ ਕਲੈਕਸ਼ਨ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰੰਪਰਾਗਤ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਬਨਾਰਸੀ ਕੱਪੜੇ (ਬ੍ਰੋਕੇਡ) ਤੋਂ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਪਹਿਰਾਵੇ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ। ਟੀਮ ਦੇ ਇਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ, ਬੀ.ਐੱਸ.ਸੀ. ਫੈਸ਼ਨ ਡਿਜ਼ਾਈਨਿੰਗ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣ ਸਰਵਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੂੰ ਰੈਂਪ ‘ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਲਈ ‘ਬੈਸਟ ਮਾਡਲ’ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਸਮਾਗਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ‘ਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਡਾ. ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਟੀਮ ਦੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਅੰਤਰ-ਕਾਲਜ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਣ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਦਯੋਗਿਕ ਖੇਤਰ ਦਾ ਵਿਹਾਰਕ ਤਜਰਬਾ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪੇਸ਼ੇਵਰ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਵਧਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਚਨਾਤਮਕਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੇ ਪੱਧਰ ‘ਤੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।”
ਫੈਸ਼ਨ ਡਿਜ਼ਾਈਨਿੰਗ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੀ ਮੁਖੀ ਡਾ. ਵੀਨੂ ਜੈਨ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਲਾਈਵ ਸ਼ੋਅ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ‘ਤੇ ਚਾਨਣਾ ਪਾਇਆ। ਡਾ. ਜੈਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “‘ਨਵਿਆ ਕ੍ਰਿਤੀ’ ਵਰਗੇ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਹਾਰਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਦਾ ਅਹਿਮ ਮੌਕਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਭਾ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੱਪੜਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਫੈਸ਼ਨ ਇੰਡਸਟਰੀ ਦੇ ਆਪਸੀ ਤਾਲਮੇਲ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣਾ ਸਿੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ।” ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਜੋੜਿਆ ਕਿ ਪਰੰਪਰਾਗਤ ਕੱਪੜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਰੂਪ ਦੇਣਾ ਸਾਡੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਟੈਕਸਟਾਈਲ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਇਹ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਮੁੱਖ ਥੀਮ ” ਵਿਰਾਸਤ: ਥਰੈੱਡਸ ਆਫ਼ ਰੋਇਲਟੀ” ‘ਤੇ ਅਧਾਰਤ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਲਪਨਾ, ਪਹਿਰਾਵੇ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ, ਸਟਾਈਲਿੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਕਸਟੇਜ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਸਮੇਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਖੁਦ ਸੰਭਾਲਣੇ ਪਏ। ਇਸ ਡਿਜ਼ਾਈਨ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਅਭਿਨੀਤ ਕੌਰ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਰਾਹੁਲ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਰਮਿਤ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਲਵਲੀ ਮਿੱਤਲ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਦੇਵਿਕਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ।
