Six-Week Internship Programme on ITR and GST Filing Concludes

The PG Department of Commerce, Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala, successfully concluded a six-week Internship Programme on Income Tax Return (ITR) and GST Filing, conducted from 1 June 2026 to 10 July 2026. A total of 180 students from Bcom-II participated in this program during their summer vacations.

The internship was designed to provide students with practical knowledge and hands-on exposure to the procedures involved in Income Tax Return filing and Goods and Services Tax (GST) compliance. Throughout the programme, participants gained valuable insights into various aspects of taxation, including GST registration, return filing, input tax credit, income tax return preparation, tax compliance, and the practical application of taxation concepts. The sessions helped students bridge the gap between theoretical learning and professional practice.

The programme was conducted by CA Ankush Gupta, whose expert guidance, practical demonstrations, and interactive sessions enabled students to develop industry-relevant skills and a better understanding of taxation procedures.

The Department expresses its sincere gratitude to Dr. Neeraj Goyal, Principal, Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala, for his constant encouragement and support in making this internship programme a success. Special thanks are also extended to Mrs. Parminder Ma’am, Head of the PG Department of Commerce, for her valuable guidance and continuous motivation throughout the programme. Dr. Deepika Singla highlighted the importance of Income Tax in daily life and creating awareness among the students.

The Department also appreciates the dedicated efforts of the organizing team, including Dr. Gagandeep Kaur and Dr. Gaurav Gupta, along with all the faculty members of the Department of Commerce, whose coordination and commitment ensured the smooth execution and successful completion of the internship.
