An Educational visit to Pinjore Gardens and Chokhi Dhani, Panchkula

An educational visit to Pinjore Gardens and Chokhi Dhani was organized for students of B.A. as part of the curriculum. College Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal stated that such field visits are vital for enhancing the practical competence of students and for connecting classroom learning with real-world applications. He emphasized that theoretical knowledge provides a scientific foundation, while field exposure develops observation skills, technical confidence, and professional understanding. He further highlighted that experiential learning enables students to understand processes more effectively and prepares them for future academic and career opportunities. For this 117 students of B.A. Part I, II, and III of subjects Geography, economics, psychology, sociology, political science and public administration visited to Pinjore Gardens and Chokhi Dhani, Panchkula. The visit was led by Professor Jagdeep Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Geography, along with Dr. Amandeep kaur, Prof. Gurpreet kaur, Dr. Harshdeep kaur, Prof. Shubham Sehgal, Prof. Jagmohan singh, Prof. Reetu kumari and Prof. Sukhwinder singh. The primary objective of the visit was to conduct a social survey, including market, cultural, and tourist surveys, to provide students with practical exposure to field-based research.

The visit was conducted smoothly, and all survey activities were completed successfully. Students actively participated in data collection and interaction with tourists and local stakeholders, which enhanced their analytical, communication, and research skills. The visit proved to be highly informative and enriching, providing students with valuable practical exposure and effectively complementing their classroom learning. At Chokhi Dhani, the students explored the vibrant essence of Rajasthani culture — experiencing traditional folk dances, soulful music, and the warmth of authentic hospitality. Through the rich Rajasthani thali, colourful turbans, and mesmerising Kalbelia dance, the students gained a deeper understanding of Rajasthan’s royal traditions and cultural heritage.
ਬੀ.ਏ. ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਪਾਠਕ੍ਰਮ ਦੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਪਿੰਜੌਰ ਗਾਰਡਨ ਅਤੇ ਚੋਖੀ ਢਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਦੌਰਾ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਖੇਤਰੀ ਦੌਰੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਹਾਰਕ ਯੋਗਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਕਲਾਸਰੂਮ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਅਸਲ-ਸੰਸਾਰ ਐਪਲੀਕੇਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਨ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਿਧਾਂਤਕ ਗਿਆਨ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਨੀਂਹ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਖੇਤਰੀ ਐਕਸਪੋਜ਼ਰ ਨਿਰੀਖਣ ਹੁਨਰ, ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਪੇਸ਼ੇਵਰ ਸਮਝ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਸਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਨੁਭਵੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਝਣ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਦੇ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਕਰੀਅਰ ਦੇ ਮੌਕਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਭੂਗੋਲ, ਅਰਥਸ਼ਾਸਤਰ, ਮਨੋਵਿਗਿਆਨ, ਸਮਾਜ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰ, ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਬੀ.ਏ. ਭਾਗ I, II, ਅਤੇ III ਦੇ 117 ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਪਿੰਜੌਰ ਗਾਰਡਨ ਅਤੇ ਚੋਖੀ ਢਾਣੀ, ਪੰਚਕੂਲਾ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰੇ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਭੂਗੋਲ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ, ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਜਗਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੀ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ. ਅਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ, ਡਾ. ਹਰਸ਼ਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸ਼ੁਭਮ ਸਹਿਗਲ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਜਗਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਰੀਤੂ ਕੁਮਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸੁਖਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰੇ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੇਤਰ-ਅਧਾਰਤ ਖੋਜ ਲਈ ਵਿਹਾਰਕ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਸਰਵੇਖਣ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ, ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਲਾਨੀ ਸਰਵੇਖਣ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ।

ਇਹ ਦੌਰਾ ਸੁਚਾਰੂ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸਰਵੇਖਣ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਸਫਲਤਾਪੂਰਵਕ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ। ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸੈਲਾਨੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਹਿੱਸੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਡੇਟਾ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਗਰਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਲੇਸ਼ਣਾਤਮਕ, ਸੰਚਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਖੋਜ ਹੁਨਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਧਾ ਹੋਇਆ। ਇਹ ਦੌਰਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਅਤੇ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਸਾਬਤ ਹੋਇਆ, ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਵਿਹਾਰਕ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਲਾਸਰੂਮ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਕ ਬਣਾਇਆ। ਚੋਖੀ ਢਾਣੀ ਵਿਖੇ, ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਰਾਜਸਥਾਨੀ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਦੇ ਜੀਵੰਤ ਸਾਰ ਦੀ ਪੜਚੋਲ ਕੀਤੀ – ਰਵਾਇਤੀ ਲੋਕ ਨਾਚਾਂ, ਰੂਹਾਨੀ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣਿਕ ਮਹਿਮਾਨਨਿਵਾਜ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਨਿੱਘ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਕੀਤਾ। ਅਮੀਰ ਰਾਜਸਥਾਨੀ ਥਾਲੀ, ਰੰਗੀਨ ਪੱਗਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਨਮੋਹਕ ਕਾਲਬੇਲੀਆ ਨਾਚ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਰਾਜਸਥਾਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਪਰੰਪਰਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਦੀ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਮਝ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ।
