Multani Mal Modi College Students Visit the Tribune Office for Educational Insights

Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala, organized a one-day educational visit to The Tribune, Chandigarh, as part of its academia–industry initiative. The visit aimed to equip students with knowledge about the structure and functions of a newspaper and the legacy of its contribution to Indian journalism.
A group of 29 students, accompanied by Dr. Vaneet Kaur and Dr. Harleen Kaur from the Department of English, and Dr. Kuldeep Kaur from the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, visited The Tribune office.
The students gained valuable insights into the workings of one of North India’s leading newspapers, which has completed 145 years of journalistic excellence. The Tribune’s legacy of pro-people editorial policies and its commitment to reporting ground realities were highlighted during the visit. The newspaper’s fearless and unbiased journalism has been instrumental in bringing forth issues affecting the marginalized and voicing their concerns.
“The visit to The Tribune office marked a significant step towards enhancing the practical knowledge of our students,” said Dr. Neeraj Goyal, Principal of Multani Mal Modi College. “It offered them a valuable opportunity to interact with industry experts, gain first-hand insights into the nuances of journalism and connect classroom learning with real-world practices, thereby enriching their overall educational experience,” he further added.
During the visit, the students learned about the process of publication, the functioning of the printing press, and the materials used in the publishing process. They witnessed first-hand how The Tribune’s editorial team works tirelessly to cover stories that matter, from rural poverty to social injustice and from environmental concerns to human rights violations. The visit reinforced the importance of responsible journalism and its impact on society.
The Tribune team warmly welcomed the students and shared their expertise, making the visit an enriching experience for all participants.
