Multani Mal Modi College Patiala shines at 62nd Inter-College Athletics Meet

Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala, recently achieved a remarkable feat in the 62nd Inter-College Athletics Meet (Boys and Girls) held at Punjabi University, Patiala. The college’s Boys team secured the Overall Championship in the Boys category, showcasing exceptional athletic prowess and teamwork In the Girls category, the team secured a commendable second position.
Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal congratulated the students on their remarkable achievement, saying, “This outstanding performance is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our athletes. It reflects the college’s commitment to promoting sports and fostering a culture of excellence among our students.”
Many students from the college excelled in various events. Jasjeet Singh Dhillon won gold in the 100-meter dash and set a new record. Tarandeep Singh claimed gold in the 400-meter race. Gurpinder Singh secured silver in the 5000-meter race, while Lovepreet Singh won bronze in the same event. Tarun earned bronze medals in both the 1500-meter and 800-meter races.
The relay teams also performed exceptionally well. The team comprising Surya Dev, Urvashi, Harkirat, and Saroj won gold in the 4×400-meter relay. Another gold medal was secured by Surya, Tarun Sama, Kanwalveer, and Ayush pal in the 4×400-meter relay. The girls’ team comprising Payal, Yashman, Urvashi, and Saroj won gold in the 4×100-meter relay.
Individual achievements were also notable. Amar won silver in the 20 km Walk. Jaskawal claimed gold in shot put and silver in discus throw. Payal won gold in pole vault and silver in javelin throw. Urvashi secured silver in the 800-meter race, adding to the college’s tally of medals.
The college administration and staff congratulated the students on their remarkable achievement. Dean Sports, Flying Officer Dr. Sumeet Kumar, said, “Our department is committed to helping our sports persons in every possible way.”
Dr. Nishan Singh, Head, Department of Physical Education also congratulated the winners and said that. “Our sports Department is one of the best Sports Department of north India and I am proud of our achievements.”
Dr. Rohit Sachdeva, Dr. Harneet Singh, and Prof. Mandeep Kaur expressed pride in the students’ achievements, saying, “We are proud to have such extraordinary sports players in our team.” and the entire college staff was present to support the students during the event.

ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਹਾਲ ਹੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਹੋਏ 62ਵੇਂ ਇੰਟਰ ਕਾਲਜ ਐਥਲੈਟਿਕਸ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ (ਲੜਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਲੜਕੀਆਂ) ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਾਬਿਲੇ-ਤਾਰੀਫ਼ ਉਪਲਬਧੀ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਲੜਕਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਓਵਰਆਲ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਜਿੱਤ ਕੇ ਖੇਡ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਭਾ ਅਤੇ ਟੀਮ ਵਰਕ ਦਾ ਉੱਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਲੜਕੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਦੂਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਲਈ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਹ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਸਾਡੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਠਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਦਾ ਨਤੀਜਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠਤਾ ਦੀ ਭਾਵਨਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਦਭਾਵਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।”
ਕਈ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਇਵੈਂਟਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਜਸਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਢਿੱਲੋਂ ਨੇ 100 ਮੀਟਰ ਦੌੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੋਨਾ ਜਿੱਤ ਕੇ ਨਵਾਂ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਬਣਾਇਆ। ਤਰਨਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ 400 ਮੀਟਰ ਦੌੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੋਨੇ ਦਾ ਤਗਮਾ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ। ਗੁਰਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ 5000 ਮੀਟਰ ਦੌੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦਾ ਤਗਮਾ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ, ਜਦਕਿ ਲਵਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਇਸੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਂਸੀ ਦਾ ਤਗਮਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਤਰਣ ਸਾਮਾ ਨੇ 1500 ਮੀਟਰ ਅਤੇ 800 ਮੀਟਰ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਦੌੜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਂਸੀ ਦੇ ਤਗਮੇ ਜਿੱਤੇ।
ਰਿਲੇਅ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਕਮਾਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਸੂਰਿਆ ਦੇਵ, ਉਰਵਸ਼ੀ, ਹਰਕੀਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਰੋਜ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ 4×400 ਮੀਟਰ ਮਿਕਸ ਰਿਲੇਅ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੋਨੇ ਦਾ ਤਗਮਾ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ। ਹੋਰ ਇੱਕ 4×400 ਮੀਟਰ ਰਿਲੇਅ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੂਰਿਆ, ਤਰਣ ਸਾਮਾ, ਕਨਵਲਵੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਆਯੁਸ਼ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਸੋਨੇ ਦਾ ਤਗਮਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਲੜਕੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ — ਪਾਇਲ, ਯਾਸਮਿਨ, ਉਰਵਸ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਰੋਜ — ਨੇ ਵੀ 4×100 ਮੀਟਰ ਰਿਲੇਅ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੋਨੇ ਦਾ ਤਗਮਾ ਜਿੱਤ ਕੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦਾ ਮਾਣ ਵਧਾਇਆ।
ਵਿਅਕਤੀਗਤ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਵੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਅਮਰ ਨੇ 20 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਵਾਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦਾ ਤਗਮਾ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ। ਜਸਕੰਵਲ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਟ ਪਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੋਨੇ ਦਾ ਤਗਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਡਿਸਕਸ ਥਰੋ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦਾ ਤਗਮਾ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ। ਪਾਇਲ ਨੇ ਪੋਲ ਵਾਲਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੋਨੇ ਦਾ ਤਗਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਜੈਵਲਿਨ ਥਰੋ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦਾ ਤਗਮਾ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ। ਉਰਵਸ਼ੀ ਨੇ 800 ਮੀਟਰ ਦੌੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦਾ ਤਗਮਾ ਜਿੱਤ ਕੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਤਗਮਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਹੋਰ ਵਧਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਟਾਫ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਡੀਨ ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਫਲਾਇੰਗ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਡਾ. ਸੁਮੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਸਾਡਾ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਹਰ ਸੰਭਵ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵਚਨਬੱਧ ਹੈ।” ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਬੋਲਦਿਆਂ ਡਾ. ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਸਿੰਘ, ਮੁਖੀ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਾਡਾ ਖੇਡ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਉੱਤਰੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵਧੀਆ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਤੇ ਮਾਣ ਹੈ।
ਡਾ. ਰੋਹਿਤ ਸਚਦੇਵਾ, ਡਾ. ਹਰਨੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਸਾਨੂੰ ਮਾਣ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੰਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਹਨ।”
ਪੂਰਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਸਟਾਫ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਹੌਸਲਾ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਰਿਹਾ।
