M. M. Modi College Wins Punjabi University Inter College Cricket Championship (Women)

Multani Mal Modi College has won the Inter-College Cricket Championship (Women) held at Punjabi University Patiala Campus by defeating the team of LBS Arya Mehila College, Barnala. While playing first, LBS Arya College team scored 45 runs by losing 3 wickets in 10 overs. In reply, the team of Multani Mal Modi College Patiala won the match in 3 overs without losing any wicket with the strike rate of 250. The Modi College player Vanshika Mahajan got best player of the match award for scoring 32 runs. She also scored 60 with the strike rate of 261 in Semi-final match of the inter-college tournament. Team captain Himanshi Saini played very well. Other members of the team Shruti Yadav and Aastha also played well. The winning team also comprised of Ruhi, Surjeet, Kanwal, Ekmanpreet, Jaspreet, Lovepreet, Payal, Aradhna, Anju and Yashmeen. It is also worth mentioning that Multani Mal Modi College Women Cricket team has participated for the first time in Punjabi University Inter College Cricket (Women) Championship.
The college Principal, Dr. Neeraj Goyal and Dr. Sumeet Kumar, Dean (Sports) and Dr. Rohit Sachdeva, Dean (Academics) congratulated the winning team. The Principal also applauded the sincere efforts of Dr. Nishan Singh, Head, Sports Dept., Dr. Harneet Singh and Prof. (Ms.) Mandeep Kaur.

ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਕੈਂਪਸ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਸੰਪੰਨ ਹੋਏ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਅੰਤਰ-ਕਾਲਜ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ (ਮਹਿਲਾ) ਟੂਰਨਾਮੈਂਟ ਦੇ ਫਾਈਨਲ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿਚ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਐਲ.ਬੀ.ਐਸ. ਆਰਿਆ ਕਾਲਜ, ਬਰਨਾਲਾ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾ ਕੇ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਈ ਹੈ। ਫਾਇਲ ਮੈਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਐਲ.ਬੀ.ਐਸ. ਆਰਿਆ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਬੈਟਿੰਗ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ 10 ਓਵਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ 3 ਵਿਕੇਟਾਂ ਖੋ ਕੇ 45 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਵਿਚ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ 3 ਓਵਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਕੇਟ ਖੋਏ, 250 ਦੀ ਸਟ੍ਰਾਈਕ ਰੇਟ ਨਾਲ ਲੋੜੀਂਦਾ ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਮੈਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿੱਤ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਫਾਇਨਲ ਮੈਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀ ਖਿਡਾਰਣ ਵੰਸ਼ਿਕਾ ਮਹਾਜਨ ਨੂੰ 32 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਬੈਸਟ ਪਲੇਅਰ ਆਫ਼ ਦਾ ਮੈਚ ਅਵਾਰਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਵੰਸ਼ਿਕਾ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਇੰਟਰ-ਕਾਲਜ ਟੂਰਨਾਮੈਂਟ ਦੇ ਸੈਮੀ-ਫਾਇਨਲ ਮੈਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ 261 ਦੇ ਸਟ੍ਰਾਈਕ ਰੇਟ ਨਾਲ 60 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਸਨ। ਟੀਮ ਦੀ ਕਪਤਾਨ ਹਿਮਾਂਸ਼ੀ ਸੈਣੀ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਖੇਡ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਸ਼ਰੁਤੀ ਯਾਦਵ ਅਤੇ ਆਸਥਾ ਵੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਧੀਆ ਖੇਡੀਆਂ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਵਾ ਜੇਤੂ ਟੀਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੂਹੀ, ਸੁਰਜੀਤ, ਕੰਵਲ, ਇਕਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ, ਜਸਪ੍ਰੀਤ, ਲਵਪ੍ਰੀਤ, ਪਾਯਲ, ਅਰਾਧਨਾ, ਅੰਜੂ ਅਤੇ ਯਾਸ਼ਮੀਨ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਸਨ। ਇਥੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਜ਼ਿਕਰਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਕੇਟ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਟੂਰਨਾਮੈਂਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਭਾਗ ਲਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਟੀਮ ਦੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਪੰਹੁਚਣ ਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ, ਡੀਨ ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਡਾ. ਸੁਮੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਡੀਨ ਅਕਾਮਿਕ ਡਾ. ਰੋਹਿਤ ਸਚਦੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਖੇਡ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਡਾ. ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡਾ. ਹਰਨੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਮਿਸ ਮਨਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਤੇ ਮੁਬਾਰਕਬਾਦ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
