Gurjant Singh secures 1st position in Punjabi University Inter-Zonal Youth Festival

Local Multani Mal Modi College’s B.A.-I student Gurjant Singh has won the first position in the poetry recitation competition at the Inter-Zonal youth festival organized by Punjabi University Patiala from November 7-9. Notably, around two hundred colleges from various zones participated in the youth festival. Gurjant Singh had earlier secured second place in the Inter Zonal youth festival held in Patiala zone and went on to achieve first position among twelve contestants from different zones in his subsequent competition. College Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal warmly welcomed Gurjant Singh upon his return to the college and congratulated him on this achievement, extending best wishes for his future. Dr. Goyal mentioned that even though Gurjant cannot see with his eyes, he uses his sensitive vision of the mind to reflect changing behaviors, a declining society, and falling human values back to those of us who can see. Dr. Goyal affirmed that the college would always be ready to provide all possible resources for this talented student. Dean of Extracurricular Activities Prof. Nina Sareen also congratulated Gurjant Singh along with the entire poetry recitation team’s in-charges. On this occasion, team in-charges Dr. Rupinder Sharma, Dr. Rupinder Singh Dhillon, Dr. Deepak Kumar, and Prof. Tanveer were present.

 

ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਬੀ.ਏ. ਭਾਗ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਗੁਰਜੰਟ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ 7-9 ਨਵੰਬਰ ਤੱਕ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਅੰਤਰ-ਖੇਤਰੀ ਯੁਵਕ ਮੇਲੇ ਦੇ ਕਾਵਿ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵੰਨਗੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ ਹੈ। ਜ਼ਿਕਰਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਯੁਵਕ ਮੇਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਜ਼ੋਨਾਂ ਚ ਲਗਭਗ ਦੋ ਸੌ ਕਾਲਜਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਗੁਰਜੰਟ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਜ਼ੋਨ ਚ ਹੋਏ ਖੇਤਰੀ ਯੁਵਕ ਮੇਲੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਦੂਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਗਲੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਦੇ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਜੋਨ ਦੇ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਯੋਗੀਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਗੁਰਜੰਟ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਿੱਘਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਲਈ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਲਈ ਸ਼ੁੱਭਕਾਮਨਾਵਾਂ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਾਡਾ ਇਹ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੇਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਸੰਵੇਦਨਸ਼ੀਲ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਦਲਦੇ ਵਰਤਾਰਿਆਂ , ਨਿਘਰਦੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਤੇ ਡਿਗਦੇ ਮਾਨਵੀ ਮੁੱਲਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ਾ ਜਰੂਰ ਵਿਖਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕਾਲਜ ਆਪਣੇ ਇਸ ਹੁਨਰਮੰਦ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਲਈ ਹਰ ਸੰਭਵ ਵਸੀਲੇ ਜੁਟਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਸਦਾ ਹਾਜ਼ਿਰ ਰਹੇਗਾ। ਸਹਿ–ਸਰਗਰਮੀਆ ਦੇ ਡੀਨ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਨੀਨਾ ਸਰੀਨ ਨੇ ਗੁਰਜੰਟ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਮੇਤ ਸਮੁੱਚੀ ਕਾਵਿ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਟੀਮ ਦੇ ਇੰਚਾਰਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਬਾਰਕਬਾਦ ਦਿੱਤੀ । ਇਸ ਅਵਸਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਟੀਮ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਡਾ. ਰੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡਾ. ਰੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਢਿੱਲੋਂ , ਡਾ. ਦੀਪਕ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਤਨਵੀਰ ਹਾਜ਼ਿਰ ਸਨ।
