New Academic Session Commences at Multani Mal Modi College with Two Days Student Orientation Programme
Patiala: 31 July, 2024
Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala organized a two-day orientation programme for the newly admitted students. The objective of this programme was to introduce the new students to the academic traditions, ethos and academic culture of the college as well as to make them aware of available facilities, courses, and different departments of the college.
College Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal inaugurated the programme and welcomed the new students in the college campus. He said that human race has progressed from the era of wheel to the era of Artificial Intelligence and education played a pivotal role in this. He said that this acquired knowledge should be applied for transformation and betterment of the society. He also motivated the students to excel in their careers, to equip themselves with modern age learning techniques and to think critically in their chosen streams of learning.
In the first session Prof. Neena Sareen, Dean Co-Curriculum activities and head of Commerce Department discussed with the students the platforms provided by the college for polishing the talent and potential of the students. She said that our learning environment is a blend of theoretical understanding, industry-oriented skill trainings and practical approach to the subject area.
Dr. Gurdeep Singh, Dean Student Welfare and Head, Department of Punjabi discussed with the students the policies of Anti-Ragging cell, the publication facilities for the students in different literary magazines run by the college and the role of library in shaping their careers. He said that students should maintain decorum and should not involve in any unlawful activities.
Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, Controller of Examination discussed with the students the annual calendar, unit planning, mandatory lecture requirements, Digi-lockers and other administrative arrangements at the college.
Dr. Rajeev Sharma, Dean, Physical Sciences, Head, Department of Chemistry discussed about the significance of Red Ribbon Club and Buddy programme. He also discussed about the significance of scientific courses and their relevance in developing scientific temperament among society.
Prof. Jagdeep Kaur apprised the students about security of Girls through Women Cell in the college, she also informed the students in detail about their time table in the college.
Prof. Vinay Garg, Head, Department of Computer Science elaborated upon the informational systems of the college and usages of LMS.
Lt. Dr. Rohit Schdeva, Dean, Academics and Placement Officer discussed with the students the UGC recognized Add-on and Certificate courses, internship trainings and Finishing School run by the college. He also presented a brief report on the placement cell of the college.
Dr. Ganesh Sethi, Department of Computer Science told the students about various SC/BC/Minority scholarship schemes and activities of General Study Circle.
Dr. Harmohan Sharma, Department of Computer Science explained different societies, clubs and wall magazines run by the college.
Dr. Sumeet Kumar, Dean Sports and Flying Officer of NCC (Air wing) discussed the eligibility criteria and the significance of NCC for the students.
Dr. Nishan Singh, Head, Department of Sports briefed about the achievements and activities of the department. He motivated the students to participate at least in one sport to stay fit and healthy.
Dr. Deepika Singla, Dean Publication discussed with the students importance of publication wing of the college.
Dr. Rupinder Singh Dhillon, Assistant Professor, Punjabi Department and incharge of the BSG told the students about Bharat Scouts and Guides Wing.
The session was chaired by Prof. Jasbir Kaur, Vice Principal and Prof. Parminder Kaur, Department of Commerce.
This programme was successfully conducted with the support and coordination of all staff members of the colleges.
The regular classes are commencing from August 1, 2024

ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਨਵੇਂ ਦਾਖ਼ਲ ਹੋਏ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਦੋ ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਓਰੀਐਂਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਨਵੇਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਪਰੰਪਰਾਵਾਂ, ਨੈਤਿਕਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਉਪਲਬਧ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ, ਕੋਰਸਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਾ ਸੀ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ.ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਦਘਾਟਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਵੇਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਾਤੀ ਪਹੀਏ ਦੇ ਯੁੱਗ ਤੋਂ ਆਰਟੀਫੀਸ਼ੀਅਲ ਇੰਟੈਲੀਜੈਂਸ ਦੇ ਯੁੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨੇ ਅਹਿਮ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਈ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਗਿਆਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੀ ਪਰਿਵਰਤਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਹਤਰੀ ਲਈ ਲਾਗੂ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਰੀਅਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਤਮਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ, ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਯੁੱਗ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੈਸ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੁਣੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਧਾਰਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੰਭੀਰਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਸੋਚਣ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਨੀਨਾ ਸਰੀਨ, ਡੀਨ ਸਹਿ-ਪਾਠਕ੍ਰਮ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਮਰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਭਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਖਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਪਲੇਟਫਾਰਮਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਸਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਾਡਾ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਦਾ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਸਿਧਾਂਤਕ ਸਮਝ, ਉਦਯੋਗ ਮੁਖੀ ਹੁਨਰ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਲਈ ਵਿਹਾਰਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਦਾ ਸੁਮੇਲ ਹੈ।
ਡਾ.ਗੁਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡੀਨ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਭਲਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਐਂਟੀ ਰੈਗਿੰਗ ਸੈੱਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਨੀਤੀਆਂ, ਕਾਲਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਚਲਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਨ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਰੀਅਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਾਇਬ੍ਰੇਰੀ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਰਿਆਦਾ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ।
ਡਾ. ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਕੰਟਰੋਲਰ ਪ੍ਰੀਖਿਆਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਸਾਲਾਨਾ ਕੈਲੰਡਰ, ਯੂਨਿਟ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾਬੰਦੀ, ਲਾਜ਼ਮੀ ਲੈਕਚਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੋੜਾਂ, ਡਿਜੀ-ਲਾਕਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਡਾ. ਰਾਜੀਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡੀਨ, ਫ਼ਿਜ਼ੀਕਲ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਖੀ, ਕੈਮਿਸਟਰੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਰੈੱਡ ਰਿਬਨ ਕਲੱਬ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਡੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਸਨੇ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਕੋਰਸਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਸੁਭਾਅ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਸਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਰਥਕਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਲੈਫਟੀਨੈਂਟ ਡਾ. ਰੋਹਿਤ ਸ਼ਦੇਵਾ, ਡੀਨ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਪਲੇਸਮੈਂਟ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਚਲਾਏ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਯੂਜੀਸੀ ਮਾਨਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਐਡ-ਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਟੀਫਿਕੇਟ ਕੋਰਸਾਂ, ਇੰਟਰਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਨਿਸ਼ਿੰਗ ਸਕੂਲ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪਲੇਸਮੈਂਟ ਸੈੱਲ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੰਖੇਪ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਵੀ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਐਨ.ਸੀ.ਸੀ. (ਏਅਰ ਵਿੰਗ) ਦੇ ਫਲਾਇੰਗ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਡੀਨ ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਡਾ. ਸੁਮੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਯੋਗਤਾ ਦੇ ਮਾਪਦੰਡ ਅਤੇ ਐਨ.ਸੀ.ਸੀ. ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਡਾ. ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਸੇਠੀ, ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਸ਼ਛ/ਭਛ/ਿੰਨੋਰਿਟੇ ਸਕਾਲਰਸ਼ਿਪ ਸਕੀਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਨਰਲ ਸਟੱਡੀ ਸਰਕਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ।
ਡਾ. ਹਰਮੋਹਨ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਚਲਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀਆਂ, ਕਲੱਬਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਧ ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ।
ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਜਗਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੜਕੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਲਈ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਣਾਏ ਵਿਮੈੱਨ ਸੈੱਲ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੰਖੇਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਣਦਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਟਾਇਮ ਟੇਬਲ ਬਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
ਖੇਡ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਡਾ.ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੰਦਰੁਸਤ ਅਤੇ ਤੰਦਰੁਸਤ ਰਹਿਣ ਲਈ ਘੱਟੋ-ਘੱਟ ਇੱਕ ਖੇਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਡਾ. ਦੀਪਿਕਾ ਸਿੰਗਲਾ, ਡੀਨ ਪਬਲੀਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪਬਲੀਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੰਗ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਡਾ.ਰੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਢਿੱਲੋਂ, ਸਹਾਇਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਅਤੇ ਬੀ.ਐਸ.ਜੀ. ਦੇ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰਤ ਸਕਾਊਟਸ ਅਤੇ ਗਾਈਡਜ਼ ਵਿੰਗ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ।
ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਵਿਨੈ ਗਰਗ, ਮੁਖੀ, ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਐਲਐਮਐਸ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਦੱਸਿਆ।
ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਗੀ ਕਾਮਰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਜਸਵੀਰ ਕੌਰ, ਵਾਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਮਰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਪਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਕਾਲਜਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਅਤੇ ਤਾਲਮੇਲ ਨਾਲ ਸਫਲਤਾਪੂਰਵਕ ਸੰਪੰਨ ਹੋਇਆ।
