International Women’s Day Celebrated at M.M.Modi College
Patiala: March 8, 2024
To commemorate International Women’s Day, Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala in collaboration with the Kala Kriti, Patiala (Regd.) India organized a felicitation ceremony for honoring women achievers of various fields. According to Ms. Saina Wazed, Who, Regional Director for South-East Asia the theme of this year’s Women Day’s is ‘Invest in Women – Accelerate Progress’ which focuses on more investments in health of women and girls for their overall wellbeing. Smt. Harpreet Kaur, Director, Language Department, Punjab was the Chief Guest of this function. The programme was inaugurated with presentation of Shiv Stuti by Ms.Rashmi.
College Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal, formally welcomed the dignitaries and wished everyone a Happy Women’s day. With the help of a UNESCO report, he asserted the urgent need of women’s role in the contemporary world. He expressed grave concern at the atrocities being committed on women in spite of the glorious history of women as freedom fighters, authors, artistes etc. He joyously shared that there are more women teachers and girl students than male teachers and boy students in the college. He assured that Modi College is committed to address each and every challenge for girl students.
Dr. Surjeet Singh Bhatti, retired Professor, Punjabi University, Patiala was the keynote speaker, in his address he said that men and women are two wheels of vehicle and it is the need of the hour that they should come together for the upliftment of society. Chief Guest Mrs. Harpreet Kaur congratulated the college to host such programme on International Women Day. She said such type of programmes will definitely help for women empowerment.
Dr. Poonam Gupta, renowned poetess, writer and state awardee, Advocate Sarita Nohria, Mrs. Madhuman recited their poems to highlight the various aspects of women in the society. Advocate Sunita Kathuria was honoured for her services to the society. The college also honoured lady employees of the college to mark this occasion. College NSS Programme Officers Dr. Rajeev Sharma and Prof. Jagdeep Kaur played a key role to make this function a success.
In this programme Sh. Ajay Kumar Gupta and Shri. Gopal Sharma. stage artist.
Prof. Neena Sareen and Dr. Manju Arora presented a vote of thanks. All the teachers and students were present in this programme. The stage was conducted beautifully by Dr. Rupinder Singh Dhillon from Punjabi Department of the college.

ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਦਿਵਸ ਮਨਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਕਲਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਤੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ (ਰਜਿ.) ਇੰਡੀਆ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੱਲਾਂ ਮਾਰਨ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ।ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਡਬਲਿਊ ਐੱਚ.ਉ ਦੇ ਦੱਖਣੀ-ਪੂਰਬੀ ਏਸ਼ੀਆ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰੀ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਸਾਇਨਾ ਵਾਜੇਦ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਇਸ ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਥੀਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ‘ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਹਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ – ਤੇਜ਼ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ’ ਤੇ ਅਧਾਰਿਤ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਲੜਕੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਮੁੱਚੀ ਤੰਦਰੁਸਤੀ ਲਈ ਸਿਹਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਉਪਰ ਕੇਂਦਰਿਤ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ, ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਕ, ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਨ। ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਅਗਾਜ਼ ਮਿਸ ਰਸ਼ਮੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸ਼ਿਵਸਤੁਤੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਤੁਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਪਤਵੰਤਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਰਸਮੀ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਦਿਵਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਧਾਈਆਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਯੂਨੈਸਕੋ ਦੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਦਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉਸਨੇ ਸਮਕਾਲੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਸੰਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ, ਲੇਖਕਾਂ ਵੱਜੋਂ, ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਵੱਜੋਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੌਰਵਮਈ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਲੜਕੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਔਰਤ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਦਿਵਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਲਈ ਹਰ ਚੁਣੌਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵਚਨਵੱਧ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਹਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੌਰ, ਡਾ. ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਨਾਰੀ ਦਿਵਸ ਦੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਖੂਬਸੂਰਤ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਉਲੀਕਨ ਲਈ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਨਾਰੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਸਾਬਿਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਡਾ. ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਭੱਟੀ, ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ (ਸੇਵਾ ਮੁਕਤ), ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੁੰਜੀਵਤ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਔਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਮਰਦ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਇੱਕ ਗੱਡੀ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਪਹਇਏ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਾਜ ਉਸਾਰੀ ਲਈ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਚਲਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ. ਪੂਨਮ ਗੁਪਤਾ, ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਕਵਿਤਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਖਿਕਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਟੇਟ ਐਵਾਰਡੀ, ਐਡਵੋਕੇਟ ਸਰਿਤਾ ਨੌਹਰੀਆ, ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਮਧੂਮਨ ਨੇ ਸਵੈ-ਰਚਿਤ ਕਵਿਤਾਵਾਂ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਔਰਤ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਪਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਚਾਗਰ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਕਲਾਕ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਐਡਵੋਕੇਟ ਸੁਨੀਤਾ ਕਥੂਰੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸਮਾਜ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਈ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਰਜਰੱਤ ਦਰਜਾ ਚਾਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਕਰਮਚਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਲਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਲਈ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ. ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਡਾ. ਰਾਜੀਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਜਗਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਈ।

(ਸਾਬਕਾ) ਉਜਾਗਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਹਰਭਜਨ ਕੌਰ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ, ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ, ਡਾ.ਜੀਵਨ ਬਾਲਾ, ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ (ਸੇਵਾਮੁਕਤ) ਡਾਂਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਜੀ.ਸੀ.ਜੀ. ਕਾਲਜ, ਸ੍ਰੀ. ਗੋਪਾਲ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਸਟੇਜ ਕਲਾਕਾਰ, ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਅਜੇ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਗੁਪਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਜੀਨੀਅਰ ਐਮ.ਐਮ.ਸਿਆਲ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੋਏ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਨੀਨਾ ਸਰੀਨ, ਡੀਨ ਸਹਿ-ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਗਤਿਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਲਾਕ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਦੇ ਡਾ. ਮੰਜੂ ਅਰੋੜਾ ਨੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦੀ ਮਤਾ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਗਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮੂਹ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਡਾ. ਰੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਬਾਖੂਬੀ ਨਿਭਾਇਆ।
