Sarbat Da Bhala Trust distributed Scholarships to students at Modi College on National Youth Day

Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala organized a special function to distribute scholarships to 97 deserving students of the college by Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust on occasion of National Youth Day. Dr. S.P.S. Oberoi, Managing Trustee, Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust attended the function as Chief Guest. Mrs. Inderjeet Kaur Gill, Director Education, Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust was also present on the occasion as special guest. College Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar welcomed the Chief Guest and other guests and said that on the occasion of National Youth Day it is true tribute to Swami Vivekananda Ji by distributing scholarships to the needy and deserving students of the college. He said ‘Sarbat Da Bhala Trust’ has become synonyms with social welfare and a hope for better education and affordable health services for number of lives across the world. Mrs. Inderjeet Gill discussed various activities and schemes initiated by the ‘Sarbat Da Bhala Trust’ for the welfare of underprivileged and marginalized sections of the society.
Prof. Ved Parkash Sharma, Vice Principal and Dean, Students Welfare said that ‘Sarbat Da Bhala Trust’ has provided scholarships the students of Modi College from last 9 years. He said that the trust has given ten thousand rupees to every needy and deserving student per year. Dr. S. P. S. Oberoi presented a cheque of Rupees Nine Lac Sixty-Nine Thousand Three Hundred and Ten (Rs. 9,69,310/-) as scholarship amount for 97 students.
Dr. Gurdeep Singh, Dean, Co-curricular activities presented a vote of thanks. All students and staff members were present on the occasion.

ਸਥਾਨਿਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਅੱਜ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਯੁਵਾ ਦਿਵਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਲੋੜਵੰਦ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਬੱਤ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ ਟਰੱਸਟ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ 97 ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਜ਼ੀਫਾ ਅਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਸਰਬੱਤ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ ਟਰਸਟ ਦੇ ਮੈਨੇਜਿੰਗ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਡਾ. ਐਸ.ਪੀ.ਸਿੰਘ ਉਬਰਾਏ ਉਚੇਚੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਹੋਏ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਇੰਦਰਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਗਿੱਲ, ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ, ਸਰਬੱਤ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ ਟਰਸੱਟ ਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਯੁਵਾ ਦਿਵਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਸਰਬੱਤ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ ਟਰੱਸਟ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਲੋੜਵੰਦ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਜ਼ੀਫ਼ਾ ਦੇਣਾ ਸਵਾਮੀ ਵਿਵੇਕਾਨੰਦ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਦਿਵਸ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚੀ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਂਜਲੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਭਲਾਈ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ‘ਸਰਬੱਤ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ ਟਰਸੱਟ’ ਦਾ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਅਮੁੱਲ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਓੁਬਰਾਏ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਹਤ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੇ ਵੰਚਿਤ ਵਰਗਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਤਕਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਲਾਸਾਨੀ ਹੈ। ਸਰਬੱਤ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ ਟਰੱਸਟ ਦੇ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਇੰਦਰਜੀਤ ਗਿੱਲ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਟਰਸੱਟ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜ-ਭਲਾਈ ਲਈ ਆਰੰਭੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਸੰਖੇਪ ਵੇਰਵਾ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਿਤ ਕਰਦਿਆ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਵੇਦ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਵਾਈਸ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਅਤੇ ਡੀਨ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਭਲਾਈ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ‘ਸਰਬੱਤ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ ਟਰਸੱਟ’ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪਿਛਲੇ 9 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਲੋੜਵੰਦ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ 10,000/- ਰੁਪਏ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਵਜ਼ੀਫ਼ਾ ਰਾਸ਼ੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਸਾਲ ਡਾ. ਐਸ.ਪੀ.ਐਸ. ਓਬਰਾਏ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਨੂੰ ਨੌ ਲੱਖ, ੳਨੱਤਰ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ, ਤਿੰਨ ਸੌ ਦੱਸ (9,69,310/-) ਦਾ ਚੈੱਕ ਵਜ਼ੀਫੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਭੇਟ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡੀਨ, ਸਹਿ-ਪਾਠਾਂਤਰ ਸਰਗਰਮੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਤਾ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸਮੂਹ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ।
