An Alumni Meet and a Play on Shaheed Bhagat Singh enacted at M M Modi College

Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala today organised an Alumni meet, and the college students enacted a play “Chhippan toh Pehlan” based on the philosophy and sacrifice of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and his comrades. In this program, the ex. Students of Modi College who are at now serving on various prestigious academic and administrative posts were felicitated. In this programme, Shri Navdeep Kumar, PCS, SDM was the Guest of Honor and Dr, Parminder Singh, Principal, State College of Education, Patiala was the Chief Guest. The president of Alumni meet, Brigadier S.S Parmar, Vice-president Dr. B.B Singla and secretary Manik Singla were present in this event.
College Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar welcomed the chief guest, alumni association and said that college is feeling proud in honouring our ex-students and the martyrdom day of Bhagat Singh is the right day to remember the ideals and scarifies of our martyrs so that it may enlighten our vision.
Speaking on this occasion Sh. Navdeep Singh said that Modi college has maintained the higher standards in the field of education, and it is one of the finest educational institute of northern India. Dr. Parminder Singh in his address appreciated the play enacted by students and said that the revolutionary ideas of Bhagat Singh are still relevant and are like a guiding force for Indian youth.
A play titled ‘ Chipaan toh Pehla’ based on the philosophy and sacrifice of Shaheed Bhagat Singh was enacted to depict the happenings of a day before their hangings. This play was directed by Prof. Kapil Sharma and Prof. Gurwinder Singh and penned down by playright. Davinder Daman. In the play students beautifully depicted the struggle of martyrs against British government, the revolutionary ideas of Bhagat Singh and his vision for bringing social change in India
Dr. Gurdeep Singh, Dean Co-Curriculum activities and head of Punjabi Department said that this play was in the memory of the supreme sacrifice of our martyrs.
In this event Vice- Principal Prof. Jasbir Kaur, Dr. Ashwani Sharma, Registrar, Dr. Ajit Kumar, Controller of examination, Dr. Rajeev Sharma, Dr. Harmohan Sharma and all staff members and students were present.

ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅੱਜ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਅਲੂਮਨੀ ਮੀਟ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਸਹੀਦੀ -ਦਿਵਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਦਵਿੰਦਰ ਦਮਨ ਦੇ ਲਿਖੇ ਨਾਟਕ ‘ਛਿਪਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾ’ ਦਾ ਮੰਚਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਅਹੁਦਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਿਭਾ ਰਹੇ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਿੱਘੀ ਮਿਲਣੀ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੱਖ-ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਵੱਜੋਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਨਵਦੀਪ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਪੀ.ਸੀ.ਐੱਸ, ਐੱਸ.ਡੀ.ਐੱਮ ਪਾਤੜਾਂ ਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਵੱਜੋਂ ਡਾ. ਪਰਮਿੰਦਲਵੀਂ ਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ, ਸਟੇਟ ਕਾਲਜ ਫਾਰ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ।ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਐਲੂਮਨੀ ਐਸ਼ੋਸੀਏਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੈਜ਼ੀਡੈਂਟ ਬਿਰਗੇਡੀਅਰ ਐੱਸ.ਐੱਸ .ਪਰਮਾਰ, ਵਾਈਸ- ਪ੍ਰੈਜ਼ੀਡੈਂਟ ਡਾ.ਬੀ.ਬੀ.ਸਿੰਗਲਾ ਤੇ ਸੈਕਟਰੀ ਮਾਨਕ ਸਿੰਗਲਾ ਹਾਜ਼ਿਰ ਸਨ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ-ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਦਿਆ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕਾਲਜ ਨਾ ਸਿਰਫ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਮਾਣ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਸਗੋਂ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਰਾਹ-ਦੁਸੇਰਾ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਵੀ ਨਿਭਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਫਲਸਫੇ ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਂਚਣ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਤੇ ਅਮਲ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਸੱਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਇਸ ਮੋਕੇ ਤੇ ਬੋਲਦਿਆ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਨਵਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਉੱਚ-ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਦੀ ਮਿਆਰੀ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਪੱਧਰ ਨੂੰ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮੁੱਖ-ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਵੱਜੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੋਲਦਿਆ ਡਾ. ਪਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਦੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰਧਾਰਾ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਹਾਦਤ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਰਗ-ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੁਖਤਗੀ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਹੋਣੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸੇਧ ਲੈਣ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਕਪਿਲ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਗੁਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਨਾ ਹੇਠ ਨਾਟਕਕਾਰ ਦਵਿੰਦਰ ਦਮਨ ਦੇ ਲਿਖੇ ਨਾਟਕ ‘ਛਿਪਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾ’ ਦਾ ਮੰਚਨ ਵੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਬੋਲਦਿਆ ਸਹਿ-ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਨਾਟਕ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਚਾਰਧਾਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਹਾਦਤ ਦੀ ਤਰਜਮਾਨੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।ਇਸ ਨਾਟਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਗਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਹਕੂਮਤ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਜੰਗ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕ੍ਰਾਂਤੀਕਾਰੀ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਤਬਦੀਲੀ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਸਤੁਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਵਾਈਸ-ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਜਸਵੀਰ ਕੌਰ, ਕਾਲਜ ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਡਾ.ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਕੰਟਰੋਲਰ ਆਫ ਇੰਗਜ਼ਾਮੀਨੇਸ਼ਨ ਡਾ. ਅਜੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਡਾ. ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਸੇਠੀ, ਡਾ. ਰਾਜੀਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡਾ.ਹਰਮੋਹਣ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਹਾਜ਼ਿਰ ਸਨ। ਸਟੇਜ-ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਡਾ. ਭਾਨਵੀ ਬਾਧਵਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
