Modi College organised lecture on Higher Education in India: Challenges and Opportunities

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Multani Mal Modi College in collaboration with Council for Teacher Education Foundation organsied an expert lecture on the topic of Higher Education in India: Challenges and Opportunities. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Jaspal Singh, Associate Professor, Directorate of Distance and Online Education, Jammu University, Jammu.
College Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar welcomed the speaker and said that higher education in passing through a transformational phase in which it is very important to connect ourselves with latest digital technology and new learning technologies.
Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Registrar formally introduced the speaker. In his lecture Dr. Jaspal Singh said that the new education policy is being implemented in the times of reducing enrolment in the higher education institutions. He said that many students were pushed out from the educational field. With the Central Admission Portal there are new challenges for the education system. The new educational policy will ensure the preservation of our local languages and the students of remote areas of India. He said that the immigration is crucial for the educational system of Punjab.
Vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Jasbir Kaur, Vice Principal. In this lecture Registrar Dr. Ashwani Sharma, Dr. Ganesh Sethi, Dr. Harmohan Sharma, Dr. Sanjay Kumar and all teachers were present.

ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਇੰਟਰਨਲ ਕੁਆਲਿਟੀ ਐਸ਼ੌਰੇਂਸ ਸੈੱਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਫਾਰ ਟੀਚਰ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਫਾਊਂਡੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਚ-ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਪੇਸ਼ ਚਣੌਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਖਾਸ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਦੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟੋਰੇਟ ਆਫ਼ ਡਿਸਟੈਂਸ ਐਂਡ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ, ਜੰਮੂ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਜੰਮੂ ਤੋਂ ਆਏ ਡਾ. ਜਸਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ, ਐਸੋਸੀਏਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਦਿਆ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਦੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਤੇ ਵੱਖਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਦਲਾਉ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਗੁਜ਼ਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਡਿਜ਼ੀਟਲ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਣਾ ਲਾਜ਼ਮੀ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਡਾ. ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਰਸਮੀ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਕਰਵਾਈ।
ਆਪਣੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ. ਜਸਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਬੋਲਦਿਆ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨਵੀਂ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨੀਤੀ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਾਗੂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਦਾਖਿਲਾ ਦਰ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਘੱਟ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।ਕੋਵਿਡ-ਮਹਾਂਮਾਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ-ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਧੱਕ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ।ਹੁਣ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਦਾਖਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਲਾਗੂ ਹੋਣ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਲਜਾਂ ਲਈ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਚਣੌਤੀਆਂ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਉਣਗੀਆਂ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਸਥਾਨਿਕ ਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁੱਰਖਿਅਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਦੂਰ-ਦੁਰਾਡੇ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਹੂਲਤ ਲਈ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਹੈ।ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ-ਖੇਤਰ ਲਈ ਪਰਵਾਸ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਮੁੱਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਵਾਈਸ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਜਸਵੀਰ ਕੌਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਤਾ ਪਤਾ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਡਾ. ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡਾ. ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਸੇਠੀ, ਡਾ. ਹਰਮੋਹਣ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਤੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਹਾਜ਼ਿਰ ਸਨ।
