Webinar on Career Opportunities in Banking and Insurance at Modi College
The Department of Business Management and Placement Cell of Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala today organized a webinar on the topic of ‘Career Opportunities in Banking and Insurance’. The objective of this lecture was to equip the students with required information regarding the preparatory process for placements and to discuss with them various job openings and career opportunities in banking and insurance sector. The expert speaker in this webinar was Sh. Kanwaljit Singh, lead Trainer, Centre for Investment Education and learning.
College principle Dr. Khushvinder Kumar while welcoming the main speaker said that banking and insurance sectors are lucrative job sectors with good salary packages but are highly competitive. He told that our Department of Business Management and placement cell is providing quality education in both areas. The speaker was formally introduced by Dr. Neeraj Goyal, Head of Department of Business management. He motivated the students to focus on learning the skills and practical aspects of a financial career. He said that this lecture is important to understand the current job market and how we may prepare ourselves for it.
In his lecture Sh. Sh. Kanwaljit Singh demonstrated with various presentations the transition from ‘being a learner to an earner’ and the current demand – supply gap in the banking and insurance industries. Focusing on a preparatory program CPBFI, introduced by Bajaj Financial services he explored the process of becoming successful by choosing the right path to a fulfilling career. He also discussed the skills and techniques to achieve the state of readiness and getting training for a particular job. After the lecture a discussion was held with the speaker.
The vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Neena Sareen, Head of Commerce Department. The event was co-ordinated and technically managed by Dr. Rohit Schdeva. The webinar was attended by 250 students from different streams.

ਸਥਾਨਿਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਬਿਜ਼ਨੈੱਸ ਮੈਂਨਜਮੈਂਟ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਤੇ ਪਲੇਸਮੈਟ ਸੈੱਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ‘ਬੈਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੀਮਾ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੈਰੀਅਰ’ ਬਾਰੇ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਵੈਬੀਨਾਰ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।ਇਸ ਵੈਬੀਨਾਰ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਦੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੀਮਾ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੌਕਰੀ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੈਰੀਅਰ ਨੂੰ ਤਰਾਸ਼ਣ ਦੇ ਨੁਕਤਿਆਂ ਤੇੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ।ਇਸ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਵੱਜੋਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ.ਕਮਲਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਮੁੱਖ ਟਰੇਨਰ, ਸੈਂਟਰ ਫਾਰ ਇੰਨਵੈਸਟਮੈੱਟ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਤੇ ਲਰਨਿੰਗ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ.ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਬੈਂਕਾਂ ਤੇ ਬੀਮਾ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਨਖਾਹ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਨੌਕਰੀਆਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਇਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਸਖਤ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਹਨ।ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਬਿਜ਼ਨਸ ਮੈਂਨਜਮੈੱਟ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਲੋੜੀਂਦੀ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਦੇਣ ਤੇ ਨੌਕਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਲਈ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਹਰ ਸੰਭਵ ਮਦੱਦ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਰਸਮੀ ਜਾਣ-ਪਹਿਚਾਣ ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ, ਬਿਜ਼ਨੈੱਸ ਮੈਂਨਜਮੈਂਟ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖੀ ਨੇ ਕਰਵਾਈ।ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਲਈ ਚੁਣੇ ਗਏ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਬੋਲਦਿਆਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਫਲ ਕੈਰੀਅਰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੈਕਟੀਕਲ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਬਣਨ ਤੇ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕੀ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਵੈਬੀਨਾਰ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ-ਕਾਜ ਦੀ ਦਸ਼ਾ ਤੇ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦੇਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਨੌਕਰੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਲੋੜੀਂਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਸੰਬਧਿਤ ਹੈ।
ਆਪਣੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ. ਕਮਲਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਉਦਾਹਰਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਮਦੱਦ ਨਾਲ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ‘ਇੱਕ ਸਿਖਾਂਦਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਕਮਾਊ’ ਬਣਨ ਤੱਕ ਦਾ ਸਫਰ ਤੈਅ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਬੈਂਕਾਂ ਤੇ ਬੀਮਾ-ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਤੇ ਨੌਕਰੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚਲੇ ਪਾੜੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ।ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਜਾਜ ਫਾਂਇਨਾਸ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਖਾਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਰੂਪ-ਰੇਖਾ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝਿਆਂ ਕਰਦਿਆ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਖਾਸ ਨੌਕਰੀ ਲਈ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਪੁੰਨਤਾ ਤੇ ਹੁਨਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਚੰਗੀ ਟਰੇਨਿੰਗ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਵੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।ਇਸ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਸਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਪਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਤੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।
ਇਸ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ।ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਤਾ ਡਾ. ਨੀਨਾ ਸਰੀਨ,ਮੁੱਖੀ ਕਾਮਰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਪਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ।ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਕੌਆਰਡੀਨੇਟਰ ਤੇ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ -ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ ਡਾ. ਰੋਹਿਤ ਸਚਦੇਵਾ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ ਦੇ 250 ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਮੂਲੀਅਤ ਕੀਤੀ।
